ABOUT

Concept:
The ROVER Packhopper was created to make it easier to carry everything you need for a practice session. In addition to holding 85 tennis balls, it also has a large pocket for two racquets, numerous small pockets for accessories, and mesh pockets for water bottles. It can easily be worn as a backpack or pulled along on its durable wheels. The ROVER Packhopper has extendable legs to raise the tennis balls to just the right height for feeding to an aspiring tennis star or working on your serve. The ROVER Packhopper can even help you make videos of your practice session with a handy compartment that holds your phone (vertically or horizontally) in just the right spot.

Execution:
The team at Mako Design + Invent in Austin, Texas worked on the mechanical concept of the Pack Hopper, creating the internal and external 2D and 3D CAD files and schematics. After reviewing the design concept, material and production execution with the client, Mako Design worked on outsourcing the right materials to create the first prototype of the Pack Hopper. After a final review of the product prototype, Mako Design created a second prototype to accommodate material, color, and measurement changes.

Results:
Successfully created a fully functioning tennis sports equipment product with multifunctional capabilities all packed within a durable and aesthetically-pleasing design. Available in different colors the ROVER Pack Hopper has successfully reached its Kickstarter campaign goal and is ready for mass production.
