The inventors of Blume came to MAKO with their idea in mind but didn't have a design and engineering background. They wanted a product that would monitor a cigars environment, and release water vapor when needed, to keep it from drying out, and to optimize the aging process. Different from other products, the inventors also wanted to ensure the water was absorbed quickly.

We provided industrial design, engineering, and prototyping services for the clients. The end product was a beautifully designed, handheld humidifier, that we equipped with an atomizing transducer that emits ultrasonic waves to create tiny liquid water droplets, which quickly evaporate to adjust the relative humidity of the device.
