About me
Hello
This is what I have spent the last 25 odd years doing:
1) I have been asked to implement and run a subsidiary company's TV department. Morris Jones was a tear away solution just like yours, created to help smooth the burgeoning client jostle at its mother company, in the buoyant market of 2003. My organizational skills are impeccable.
2) I have created and run my own service agency. The company was tiny - my staff contingent was only 3 and yet the volume of work generated was substantial. We turned over $2,5 million in the first year of business and ran for 6 years. This helps make me an integral part of the pitch research and team.
I need an organization that can see outside of the box, that can see that within the last 7 years of my career I launched a major African Cellular network, with huge success, I have launched and maintained clients and been a consultant to some of the most prestigious clients/agencies within South Africa. I am not just a mere producer I am a marketer and a manager.
I am an ideas person and I am not afraid to take a challenge and make it into a success. I was involved in TV campaigns promoting South African Tourism and the part of South Africa that were tourist destinations. I have contributed to sponsorship deals between World Wild Life Trust and Mazda, which was ongoing for about 5 or 6 years.
I have worked for smaller agencies and learnt to multitask on a whole variety of disciplines from print production, print shoots, art buying and copywriting. I worked for Edgars a larger wholesale fashion company, where the production was from TV through to print campaigns, PR articles and press liason.
I grew up in the film industry with a father who was a director, cameraman, editor and had a one stop “film it” shop. He taught me well. I have been on set since I was born and worked during my holidays, since I was 14, I have done it all, from casting, to wardrobe, to general dogs body, in other words, I don't mind getting my hands dirty.
In my professional capacity I have worked in production departments since I was 18. I have worked on pretty much all forms of media out there. I have implemented new systems in various companies, from think tanks to tissue sessions, and not only led the Electronic Media Department (TV, Cinema, Radio, Internet & mobile) at Grey Worldwide, but I also sat on the management board making decisions that effected the entire staff.
I have extensive experience in liaising between suppliers so my client service & negotiation skills are formidable, however with a mother who was a fine artist, I have had a healthy dose of creativity thrown in there too, this often helps me speak “creative” when the need arises.
I have a short show reel of my work should you require to see my “art” and a full list of reference letters,
Kindest Regards
Maja McIntosh
