This project was created for issue 14 of Psychologie Magazine, where I was commissioned to design both the cover and a series of interior illustrations for an article exploring the emotional strain of supporting a struggling family member.

The brief centred on the tension between staying present for someone you love while also protecting your own wellbeing. It was important that the illustration felt empathetic and human.

My approach focused on using colour as a way to express emotional exchange.

Across the series, abstracted figures and layered shapes are used to show emotional weight.

The final artwork was used for the magazine cover as well as across multiple editorial spreads.
