Webby and D&AD Awards Name Ogilvy & Mather Agency of the Year

Published by

Ogilvy & Mather have enjoyed another big win, just weeks after winning Global Network of the Year at the 41st annual One Show Awards, taking home Agency of the Year nods at two of the top industry award shows. The two shows in question are the 18th Annual Webby Awards in New York City (which took place on the 19th of May) and the D&AD Awards in London (which took place on the 22nd). Tham Khai Meng, the worldwide CCO for O&M, said it is a “Great honour to be recognised at the Webby's and the D&AD” by their peers, and believes the wins are a true reflection of their digital capabilities. He thanks the “Teams and clients for their belief and support of the brave ideas.” and feels that “Without their courage and tenacity, these wins would not have been possible."

It was O&M Paris that took home the awards, winning Agency of the Year at the Webby's and Most Awarded Advertising Agency at the D&AD's. The D&AD Awards saw 30 different entries from the O&M network across various disciplines and the Webby's saw 17 nominations; the agency's best performance ever with six Webby Awards and seven People's Voice Awards, which come as a direct result of O&M Paris' work for Google+, Perrier, and Scrabble. The Agency of the Year accolade is awarded to the agency that is most successful across all categories, which include Interactive Advertising & Media, Websites, Mobile & Applications, Online Film & Video, and Social. This just goes to show what a diverse and creative agency Ogilvy & Mather really are.

If O&M were to take home the Network of the Year at this year's Cannes, it would be their third consecutive year, as it was named as such in both 2012 and 2013

These wins serve to reinforce the agency's momentum, which should culminate in a very successful showing at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity in June, which is perceived almost as the 'Academy Awards' of the advertising world. If O&M were to take home the Network of the Year at this year's Cannes, it would be their third consecutive year, as it was named as such in both 2012 and 2013. It's worth noting that O&M have also won Network of the Year for the last 2 consecutive years at the EFFIEs, another one of the industry's most prestigious ceremonies.
