The swarm of drones illuminating Miami Beach

Amsterdam-based Studio Drift has choreographed 300 drones to mimic a flock of birds over the beach during this year's art week in Miami. Presented by Future\Pace gallery and BMW, the Franchise Freedom installation debuted last night outside the Faena hotel complex in Miami Beach. The artwork was created by Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta of Studio Drift, who programmed the drones to simulate natural murmuration behaviour seen in starlings and other birds.
