Ogilvy & Mather take best in show at the 46th Annual Effie Awards

At last weeks 46th Annual Effie Awards, Ogilvy & Mather walked away with top honours for  Unilever's “Winning Back Dove Love” campaign for Dove Real Beauty Sketches. It was revealed as the winner of the 'Grand Effie' (effectively the 'best in show') at the awards show, which took place in New York last Thursday night (the 5th of June), O&M and Unilever also won a further three Gold Effie awards for their work on the campaign. The Effies aim to recognise the most effective marketing communications cases and agencies in the US & Canada, and awards are received based on thorough analysis of the North America Effie Awards finalist and winner data from the past year.

Ogilvy & Mather North America and Ogilvy & Mather New York was also recognised as the top creative agency network of the year, and the network took home a total of 14 awards including six Golds, two Silvers and six Bronzes, making it the most awarded agency in the US. The clients that secured O&M the most awards were IBM, Dove, and Kimberly-Clark's U, whose campaign was created by Kotex. Judy John, a member of the 2014 Grand Effie Jury and chief creative officer at Leo Burnett says “There were strong contenders for this year's North American Grand Effie Award, but the jury agreed that Dove Real beauty Sketches seemed to have it all.”

John Seifert, the CEO and chairman of Ogilvy & Mather North America says that “Being recognised by the Effies is a huge accolade” for the network, and that being awarded with the Grand Effies proves they're doing exactly what they have always set out to to; “Produce business results” for their clients. Lou Aversano, chief CEO for Ogilvy & Mather New York agrees. He believes there have “Been some great moments in the New York office this year," and says O&M are “Thrilled to share the honour” of such a prestigious award from such a prestigious competition with their clients.

Procter & Gamble was also named as the most effective marketer in North America for the fourth consecutive year, and Cramer-Krasselt won the most effective independently held advertising agency award.
