McCann Australia name Roshni Hegerman as senior planner

It was announced towards the end of last week that Roshni Hegerman will be joining McCann Australia's planning department as senior planner at the agency's Sydney office. Hegerman joins McCann after a stint as planning director at BBDO India, where she looked after clients such as Pepsico, HP, Wrigley’s, SC Johnson, HP and Aviva. Before she joined BBDO, Hegerman served as regional planning director at Bartle Bogle Hegarty India, and has also worked at Saatchi & Saatchi in both China and Los Angeles, Sunny, also in LA and BBDO Chicago.

Hegerman will be reporting to McCann Australia's national planning director, Karl Bates, who said of Hegerman's appointment that he feels it is “A key part of McCann’s commitment to continuously push strategic planning capabilities to a new level.” He says that the agency were looking for someone “With international experience, a hunger for crazy adventures and an expectation to do nothing but quality work,” and believes that in Hegerman they have found “ All that and more.”

The American-born Hegerman said that she feels it is an “Incredibly exciting time to be joining McCann Australia, when the agency is breaking records around the world through its strong commitment to creativity and effectiveness across every client and every piece of work.” She is “Thrilled to be part the team.” She will be working across all of the agency's key Sydney clients, which include such prestigious, globally recognisable names as Coca-Cola and MasterCard.

Hegerman joins McCann following a period of incredible growth and success for the agency. Impressive recent account wins such as Valvoline, Nespresso, Universities Australia and CSG Communication have been underlined by another fantastic performance at the Cannes Lions, where McCann Australia hauled in the prestigious Creative Effectiveness Grand Prix for V/Line’s 'Guilt Trips' campaign. This achievement is just the icing on the cake for the agency, who have won a total of 30 Lions and 6 Grand Prix awards over the past two years alone. McCann Australia also scored big in the Effie Effectiveness Index, which was released last week, earning itself the title of most effective agency in Melbourne and third most effective agency in Australia
