Lacoste replaces logo for Biological Diversity Day

Published by

French clothing brand Lacoste has once again removed the classic crocodile logo from its iconic polo shirts to raise awareness for International Day for Biological Diversity (22 May).

Save Our Species 2 is taking place today at the brand’s stores and online and saw 3,520 of the unique garments go on sale this morning to coincide with the event. It follows a similar campaign launched last year that saw polos featuring 10 endangered species sold.

Polos available in 10 stores around the world and on lacoste.com aim to help the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s efforts to conserve threatened wildlife. The number of polos made of each species matches the number of animals known to remain in the wild in what is a clever campaign from BETC Paris.

Shanghai, Berlin, Miami, Tokyo, Miami, LA, London, Seoul, New York and Paris are all participating in the activation. This time around the crocodile logo hasn’t only been removed from the brand’s staple product, it has also been temporarily taken out of all the above retail locations.

What’s more is that all profits from the day will be donated to the cause. Visit the stores to buy one of the unique garments before closing time or shop them here. But be quick, as numbers are diminishing at an alarming rate!
