Zeitguised launches dedicated Foam Studio commercial arm

Published by

Zeitguised is a German design studio that produce amazing hyper-real animation and CGI and have worked with some of the worlds biggest brands and broadcasters producing highly-stylised films and graphics, including: Absolut, Adobe IBM, Mercedes Benz, Nike and Samsung, to name but a few. As of this week, after garnering critical artistic acclaim and commercial award success, the company are launching a dedicated commercial arm; Foam Studio, in a bid to formalise their commercial offering. Interestingly their model works backwards to most commercial studios, who tend to begin with commercial work before pursuing an artistic path. Zeitguised however are already very-well established in the art world but have decided to open commercially due to high demand for their design work.

Henrik Mauler, Founder of Zeitguised, said: “Foam is the opportunity to let our passion for strong imagery drive commercial projects, utilising the dynamic structures and renowned innovative strength of Zeitguised. Contrary to an artistic endeavour, commercial projects are by definition goal oriented, time and budget driven and need to accommodate diverse demands. This requires a whole different way of working. As a consequence, the studio developed highly efficient techniques and processes to deliver outstanding design work for brands and products.” Helge Kiehl, ECD at Zeitguised, added: “With Foam, we create stunning product worlds, beautiful moving images and handle the whole production line from concept to finished product, all in house. Now it’s time to make this development public to reveal its full potential.”

Over time, Zeitguised have turned their artistic-briefing model on its head, developing highly efficient processes and techniques as an answer to creative briefs from agencies and brands. Foam, which officially launched yesterday (September 28) will operate as a separate layer to the mother company, providing a unique studio of creatives, designers and producers who will develop concepts and visual stories, and direct images and films, all in pure and exquisite CG. Zeitguised as the incubator will continue to work with brands, concepts and products on a highly sophisticated artistic level, whereas Foam will take all of the experience and unique style of Zeitguised and will provide a traditional structure and a refined efficient process to commercial briefs. The launch of Foam marks the manifestation of this approach to address a growing commercial need.
