Creative Circle Awards 2016 Winners Announced

AMVBBDO awarded Creative Agency of The Year and Gold of Golds for Currys PC World's Spare The Act Laptop spot.

The winners of the 2016 Creative Circle Awards were announced last night at the Roundhouse.

The event was once again hosted by the Creative Circle’s longstanding collaborator and Mistress of Ceremonies, Edith Bowman. A total of 221 Gold, Silver, Bronze, and special awards were announced on a night that celebrated the very best work created in the UK over the past year.

AMVBBDO was revealed as this year’s Creative Agency of the Year, having accumulated a total of 33 awards on the night, including 11 Golds. The agency’s Spare The Act Laptop spot, part of their Christmas campaign for Currys PC World, was awarded the coveted Gold of Golds.

The Mill, which collected ten awards on the night, picked up the prize for Creative Production Company of the Year.

Tony Cullingham, Course Director of the Watford Creative Advertising Course, was presented with this year’s President’s Award by Justin Tindall, Executive Creative Director of M&C Saatchi and President of Creative Circle.

The Most Promising Creative Newcomer award was won by Matt Deacon and Ben Fallows of TBWA, while the Best Up and Coming Film Director award went to Tom Barbor-Might of Rogue.

The full list of winners can be found on the Creative Circle App, which is now available for both smartphone and tablet users through the App Store and Google Play.

Jeremy Green, CEO of Creative Circle, comments: “The Creative Circle strives to celebrate, champion and nurture British creativity, and tonight was a night to celebrate the very best work that our fantastic creative industry has created over the course of the past year. Congratulations to each and every award winner. We must now go on to nurture those watching from the balconies and continue to raise the bar of creative excellence.”

There were hundreds of attendees on the night, with the industry’s biggest and best joined by dozens of students who watched proceedings unfold from the Roundhouse’s balconies. Having recently played a sold out show at the esteemed venue Electric Brixton as well as announcing their (now sold out) debut US tour, London electronic-soul duo HONNE were hand to wow the crowd with their performance on the night.
