Colleen Wilber named as Vice President of Qorvis MSLGROUP

Published by

It was announced yesterday that Qorvis MSLGROUP, the Publicis Groupe's strategic communications and engagement group, has named Colleen Wilber as its new vice president. Wilber is renowned as one of the best media professionals in the business, with over a decade of PR, journalism and media experience under her belt, which she will bring to the  Qorvis MSLGROUP's Washington, D.C office, where she will be providing strategic counsel to the staff and executing media outreach for many of the group's key clients.

Before she joined America's Promise Alliance in 2007, Wilber worked at the American Cancer Society as a member of their national media advocacy team

Wilber joins the group from America's Promise Alliance, the network devoted to facilitating volunteer action for young people, which was founded by statesman, and former secretary of state, Colin Powell in 1997. At APA, Wilber served as the vice president of media relations, working primarily on all media relations related to the national campaign to keep kids in high school following the 'dropout crisis' of the late 90's and early 21st century. Before she joined APA in 2007, Wilber worked at the American Cancer Society as a member of their national media advocacy team, and has also served as an account staffer at Boston's O'Neill Associates. She began her career working in radio and television.

Michael Petruzzello, the public affairs practice director for MSLGROUP North America and president of Qorvis MSLGROUP, believes that Wilber is “One of the best in the business when it comes to delivering significant media results.” He says the group is known for its strong PR and media relations offering and thanks to her experience in both sectors, Wilber is “An important asset” to add to the team. Wilber herself, meanwhile, understands that the role she'll be filling at the company is a crucial part of a “Successful integrated communications strategy”, and is “Looking forward to helping (Qorvis MSLGROUP) expand its already impressive media connections as a part of its ambitious new business efforts."

This big new hire is the latest in a long line of big moves for Qorvis, one of the most respected independent public relations firms in the United States, which became part of the MSLGROUP earlier this year after being acquired by the Publicis Groupe. These include Lisa Clayton, who joined the company as a senior account supervisor, Tyler Osborne, who joined the video production team, and graphic designer, Spencer Ross Joynt, all of whom joined the Qorvis MSLGROUP team earlier this month. The company has also gained numerous new domestic and international business since the start of the year.
