We sat down during Cannes Lions 2017 to talk about the opportunities, strategy and conversations surrounding the representation of girls with Amy Emmerich, Chief Content Officer at Refinery29 during a break from the sun at Havas Cafe.
Starting our discussion off by exploring the growth in the industry, Amy highlighted the importance of strategy in an industry where a plethora of opportunities exists.
‘There was a day where you could make one piece of content and put it anywhere you wanted, that day no longer exists. You become a programmer of many channels’.
Stating that she was pleasantly surprised at the amount of conversation focussing on women and the representation of girls this year at Cannes Lions, Amy expects to see a lot data next to year to see whether or not these conversations are having an impact against the community.
