Cannes Lions 2017: Creative renaissance with Dominique Delport

Named the People’s Choice Influencer of the Year by Creativepool, Dominique Delport, Global Managing Director at Havas Group, and Chairman of Vivendi Content, was able to meet with Creativepool founder, Michael Tomes, at Havas Cafe on the sunny French Riviera this year during Cannes Lions.

Starting the conversation on the death of advertising and the need for creative renaissance, Dominique discussed that after a year of scrutiny with agencies, scrutiny on brand safety and scams from digital mafia. We have a lot to work on in digital advertising. He felt that there is an increasing pressure placed on creativity by technology and that is something that we must mitigate and manage. Algorithms are brilliant and unique, but in a world where consumers are opting out of intrusive advertising, ideas, stories and characters are what matter most to people.
