Annual 2017 welcomes new categories and global judging panel

Published by

With the year winding down, it's time for us to look back on what has been a particularly strong year for creative work with the announcement of a global judging panel, new categories, and the opening of early bird submissions for the 2017 Annual.

In 2016, we presented you with 140 pages, 86 Companies, 24 Categories and 2 Agencies of the Year, but for 2017 the game changes once more. Winners will be selected in a fairer competition that awards companies and individuals separately. It's this diversity and the democratisation of the returning People's Choice winners that set the Annual apart from other creative awards. The 2017 Annual promises to be the most elaborate yet, with a fresh design planned, along with 9 new categories.

The People’s Choice isn’t just about democratisation, but is about how work is and should be recognised in our industry. By crowd-sourcing the attention to the shortlisted work, the 2016 voting saw over 5 million views in just three days, with a neck-to-neck race in each category to find the eventual winner.

The excitement surrounding the Annual culminates with the 2017 Awards, which run in conjunction with and compliment the Annual. The Awards are an integral part of the creative calendar, celebrating the people and organisations behind the outstanding work featured on Creativepool. These are individuals and companies who have changed the game, blazed trails, and caught our attention in a busy world this year. Our Awards recognise Newcomers, Influencers, and Agencies of the year by opening nominations to everyone, with one winner selected by our judges and another selected by the members of Creativepool.

Creativepool’s Managing Editor, Alexandra Schott, said: “With how uncertain our future is, both politically, technologically, it is truly a powerful time to be a part of the creativity industry. The bravery we have seen this year across the platform is both eye-opening and empowering for all of us. Looking at who the team has assembled to review this work, and to give the whole community the power to judge, will make it incredibly exciting to see the results. Creativity will save us.”
