Volkswagen inspires movie star confidence in new TV idents

Published by

Volkswagen has created a series of funny idents to promote its continued sponsorship of ITV Movies in the UK that see people in films gain unrealistic levels of confidence.

The entertaining scenes include an American spy eager to show off his fluent Russian at a roadblock manned by soldiers and a defence lawyer with a seemingly indefensible client.

adam&eveDDB is the creative agency behind the Movie Star Confidence campaign taking inspiration from Hollywood narratives with the Volkswagen SUV at the centre of each clip.

Rather than crumble in the face of danger, the drivers react boldly thanks to the unexpected confidence they feel while behind the wheel of the vehicle. David Shane is the director through O Positive @ Rogue.

The idents build on adam&eveDDB’s Complete Confidence work for VW’s sponsorship of ITV’s coverage of the World Cup football competition last year. In that series of clips, a football fan becomes very confident about his predictions of various scenarios on the pitch because he drives an SUV.

Earlier this year, McDonald’s interrupted movie scenes with a selection of idents of its own to promote its sponsorship of ITV Movies and home ordering service McDelivery.
