James R. Heekin III, Chairman and CEO of the Grey Group, has announced the promotion of Michael Houston, to Global President of Grey. Houston served most recently as CEO of Grey North America. In his expanded new worldwide leadership role, Houston will work closely with Heekin in the management of Grey's EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific regions, while continuing to oversee North American operations. Houston was promoted to CEO of Grey North America in 2013, overseeing the New York, San Francisco and Canadian offices as well as Grey Activation and PR and Wing, the multicultural marketing communications agency. Under his leadership, Grey has won such blue-chip clients as Gillette, Volvo, Hasbro, Papa John's, Kellogg's and Marriott and been recognised by ADWEEK and AD AGE as “Agency of the Year.”

Publicis Worldwide

Publicis Worldwide has announced Mick McCabe as its new Global Chief Strategy Officer. He was previously Chief Strategy Officer of Leo Burnett USA. Joining in March 2016, McCabe will be based in Publicis Worldwide's New York office and will also be part of the Publicis New York management team. He will work closely with Carla Serrano, former CSO and newly appointed CEO of Publicis New York and Andrew Bruce, CEO of North America. This follows a year of significant new business wins in North America with Cadillac, Citibank and Sears joining its prestigious client list. McCabe has been with sister Publicis Communication agency Leo Burnett since 2012, working with the likes of Allstate, Esurance, Marshalls, McDonald's, Nintendo and Samsung. Prior to Leo Burnett, Mick held Chief Strategy roles at KBS and Deutsch. Dylan Williams, who has held the position of Global CSO at Publicis Worldwide for nearly two years, is leaving Publicis Worldwide to pursue new entrepreneurial ventures.

Leo Burnett USA

Leo Burnett USA has named Marcello Magalhaes its new chief strategy officer. Most recently a partner and VP of strategic planning of Leo Burnett Tailor Made in Sao Paulo, Magalhaes will partner with recently named Leo Burnett CEO Rich Stoddart to drive the strategic direction of the U.S. agency and oversee the agency's strategy department. He will also serve as the global strategy lead on McDonald's and work across the agency's portfolio of clients. He'll start in his new role in March, succeeding former CSO Mick McCabe, who was just named global chief strategy officer for sister Publicis Communications agency Publicis Worldwide. During his time at Leo Burnett Tailor Made, the agency doubled in revenue, was crowned the most awarded agency in Brazil in 2014, and was the most awarded agency at the 2014 Brazilian Effie Awards.

Fingerpaint has hired advertising veteran Bruce Rooke to lead an innovation group that will expand the full-service agency to challenge and answer the needs of an ever-changing communications landscape. Rooke brings decades of experience in the consumer and healthcare fields to the title-free agency, where he will help invent new communications ideas, including novel partnerships with venture capital, drive new business, and expand Fingerpaint's international presence. Rooke joins Fingerpaint from GSW Worldwide where he served as Global Creative Officer for nearly 13 years, managing accounts such as Genentech, Lilly and Biogen. Prior to his role at GSW, Rooke operated as Executive Creative Director for J. Walter Thompson, managing major accounts including Ford, Goodyear, Shell, Bosch, White Castle and more. The news comes on the heels of Fingerpaint's new hire announcement of former McCann Torre Lazur President, Bill McEllen, to head the Saratoga Springs office. With the hiring of these seasoned executives, the employee-owned and employee-driven agency anticipates a groundbreaking year ahead.

CEO of Havas Media and Managing Director of Havas Media Group UK, Paul Frampton, has been promoted to Chief Executive of Havas Media Group in the UK and Ireland. This announcement follows the recent move of Pedro Avery to Global CEO of Havas Sports & Entertainment. As Havas Media Group’s UK MD, Frampton unified the management teams across the group for the core media agency brands, Havas Media, Arena Media and Forward Media; entertainment and experiential agency Havas Sports & Entertainment Cake; data management and customer engagement agencies DBi, ais London and Arnold KLP. Frampton was also instrumental in extending Havas’ footprint into the North West, with the opening of Havas Village Manchester. Havas Media Ireland will also fall under his new remit. He will further focus on the Havas Group’s vision for innovation and build on the company’s client focused strategy for growth. This strategy has seen Havas Media Group’s billings rise to more than £500 million.

Ogilvy & Mather London has appointed former RKCR/Y&R ECD Mick Mahoney to the role of Chief Creative Officer (CCO) to lead the agency’s creative output across its client portfolio in the UK. He will report into newly appointed CEO, Charlie Rudd. Mahoney’s appointment further strengthens the new senior team at Sea Containers including, Charlie Rudd, CEO who joined early in the year and Chief Strategy Officer, Kevin Chesters who joins the agency in the Spring. Mahoney, Executive Creative Director at RKCR/Y&R from 2013 to 2015, previously worked as Executive Creative Director at Havas Worldwide London for four years, and from 2006 as Creative Director at BBH London, where he worked with Ogilvy’s newly appointed CEO, Charlie Rudd. He is known for his big ideas as well as his craft and has created outstanding work for leading brands, including Vodafone, Land Rover, Unilever and Johnnie Walker. He has won over 150 industry awards, including a Cannes Grand Prix, 4 Gold Lions, 6 Silver Lions, a One Show Best In Show, 5 D&AD Silvers, and 5 BTAA Golds.

FCB Worldwide CEO Carter Murray has announced a new leadership team at FCB Garfinkel, the network’s New York office. Beginning in March, Karyn Rockwell, currently EVP, Global Account Director overseeing the Mondelez business across IPG agencies FCB and The Martin Agency, will become the agency’s new CEO. Ari Halper, most recently ECD at Grey New York, will also join the agency as the new CCO next month. Rounding out the trio is Deb Freeman, who joined the New York office as EVP, CSO, in early February. The new leadership appointments come as Lee Garfinkel, CEO of the agency since 2014, is taking a break from the industry. He's leaving to focus on other forms of artistic expression, including working on his extensive catalogue of unpublished songs and completing his first dramatic play. He'll also consult with companies outside of the ad industry. Following his departure, the agency, currently known as FCB Garfinkel, will be renamed FCB New York. To ensure a smooth transition, Lee Garfinkel will remain on board for the next three months.

The former UK Minister of State for Energy & Climate Change, Lord Barker’s extensive experience at the forefront of the UK's response to climate change will help gyro build and grow its sustainability efforts. gyro’s focus on sustainability will encompass its 14 offices worldwide and will draw upon its humanly relevant mission and well-established B2B capabilities. Lord Barker was previously the Prime Minister’s Climate Envoy and was appointed Chair of the London Sustainable Development Commission in 2015. In 2010, he held the role of Minister of State at the Department of Energy & Climate Change and was elected into Parliament serving on the Environment Audit Select Committee in 2001. He oversaw the launch of the world’s first Renewable Heat Incentive as well as delivered the comprehensive reform of the UK electricity sector, which has created the largest offshore wind programme in the world.

Total brand experience agency Momentum Worldwide, part of McCann Worldgroup, has appointed Mike Kettles as Executive Creative Director. Kettles, formerly of KLP Euro RSCG, Greenspace and RPM, joins the Momentum Worldwide team to lead the creative offering in the UK market in a newly created role within the agency. In previous roles, Kettles has worked on campaigns for the likes of Bacardi, Heineken, Toyota and Lego, with global scope and responsibility for creative conceptualisation through to execution. An example of his stellar creative vision and strategic execution is the Mobius award winning Heineken Thirst global experience, an experiential platform that operated in over 50 countries across a two-year period. He will take up the post with immediate effect and work closely with the recently appointed Momentum Worldwide President - UK, Luke D’Arcy, to bring to life the new agency vision; to be the UK’s leading creative business, with Kettles being responsible for the agency product and management of the creative departments producing client work across the UK offices in both London and Manchester.
