Gyro London has appointed David Harris as Executive Creative Director. Teamed with the strong leadership of Gyro London Managing Director Kate Howe, Harris will help to intensify gyro’s growing presence as a business-to-business powerhouse in this highly competitive market. Harris has held ECD roles at other top agencies, including Wunderman (leading Microsoft’s business-to-business work) and most recently FCB where he worked on Beiersdorf (Nivea, Eucerin and Elastoplast) and Mondelez (Oreo and Tuc). Harris was also instrumental in co-founding the integrated agency LIDA with M&C Saatchi.

Creative agency and strategic media platform Crush+Lab continues to sharpen its impressive team with the addition of editor Scott Butzer. Butzer will work as Head of Editorial for the Los Angeles boutique production company, which specialises in creating innovative television, film, commercials, as well as engaging social projects and relevant digital media. Butzer has a passion for provoking stories that inspire dialogue and leave a mark in the world, which is perfectly in step with the Crush+ Lab ethos. Executive Producer/Director David Solomini, along with EP Alexander Kafi and Creative Director/Producer Paula Tabalipa, formed the company with the intention of challenging the status quo and creating relatable content with lasting impact.

Mother London

Brazilian creative team Ana Balarin and Hermeti Balarin have been announced as the new ECDs at Mother London. The husband and wife pair who have risen through the ranks of the creative agency over the past nine years will be immediately tasked with leading London’s creative department, and continuing to cultivate a spirit of creative excellence among the next generation of Mother talent. They will join the London management team, working alongside Managing Director Sara Tate and Joint Heads of Strategy Chris Gallery & Katie Mackay to continue to drive the agency’s creative reputation that has consistently built up over the past two decades.

BBH Asia Pacific

BBH Asia Pacific has welcomed Creative duo Kasia Kifert and Dawid Marcinkowski to Singapore. The duo (originally from Poland and most recently based in London) are more widely celebrated as the “Kissinger Twins,” even though they're not genetically related. Kasia and Dawid have received international acclaim for their original work. The duo have produced creative content across a vast media palette including film, digital, photography and advertising for brands that include Channel 4, Honda, Expedia, Philips, Clarins and Avon. Their work has been widely recognised by major festivals and awards shows, including the Webby Awards, SXSW, Cannes Lions, Luezers Archive, Vancouver IFF, onedotzero, OFFF and The FWA.

Mullen Lowe Group

Mullen Lowe Group has announced the promotion of Richard Warren, CEO of DLKW Lowe and co-founder of DLKW, to the newly created role of Mullen Lowe Group UK CEO. Warren will report into Alex Leikikh, Global CEO, Mullen Lowe Group, and the appointment is effective immediately. Mullen Lowe Group UK consists of through the line advertising agency DLKW Lowe, digital marketing agency Lowe Profero, and strategic activation and shopper marketing agency Lowe Open. The three entities will continue to operate as separate brands. As part of this announcement, DLKW Lowe has also appointed a new management team. Jamie Elliott, DLKW Lowe’s Managing Director has been promoted to CEO, and ECD Dave Henderson has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer.

TBWA Oceania

Hristos Varou has been promoted to the position of regional chief strategy officer at TBWA Oceania. He will continue to work in partnership with Paul Mayes, executive planning director of Whybin\TBWA Melbourne and David McIndoe, Head of Planning for Whybin\TBWA Auckland.

 Joining Whybin\TBWA Sydney as executive planning director in July 2009, Varouhas has been critical to the agency’s creative, effectiveness and new business success.

Grey Group Australia

Grey Group Australia has made three key appointments in the creative and planning departments to further extend its digital expertise. Josh Harvey and Cohan Banfield join Grey as designers for the creative team while Matt Simms joins as strategic planner. All three are based in Sydney and will work across all Australian clients. 

Harvey, a digital designer who joins Grey from Spinklr UK, will be responsible for developing integrated and interactive experiences across mobile, web and social media. 

Banfield, a multi disciplinary designer with experience across print, photography, web and online media joins Grey as digital designer, and Simms will be responsible for the digital and social planning, and will be working closing with Grey Sydney’s newly appointed national planning director, Danish Chan.

BBDO Japan

BBDO has named strategist Tony Harris as CEO of a newly created agency brand as the network splits its Japanese operations into three: I&S BBDO, BBDO J West and the newly-created BBDO Japan. Harris, formerly CEO of BBDO Guerrero in the Philippines, will be joining BBDO Japan as its new chief executive. He will report to Kazutoyo Kato, president of the I&S BBDO Group and Chris Thomas, chairman of I&S BBDO Group and CEO of the Americas, who will continue in their roles.
 
Based in Tokyo, BBDO Japan will be responsible for managing BBDO’s existing global accounts, as well as assisting those Japanese clients seeking access to BBDO’s global capabilities. At BBDO Guerrero, Harris will be succeeded by Francine Kahn-Gonzalez, managing director of the agency. Harris assumes his new role immediately.

Havas Media Group UK has appointed Nick Wright to the newly created role of Group Creative Director. The news marks a promotion from his current role as Head of Creative for Havas Sports & Entertainment. Nick’s immediate focus will be on the implementation and construction of an entirely new, creatively-driven team, in which he will work into Group Chief Strategy Officer Graeme Douglas, and will be tasked with driving creativity and collaboration across the group.

R/GA London has appointed Phil Haworth to the newly created role of group creative director, head of campaigns, joining the agency’s senior management team. As group creative director, head of campaigns, Haworth is charged with the day-to-day management of the agency’s creative teams, developing best-in-class work across all accounts. Haworth joins R/GA from AKQA, where he spent eight years as group creative director.
