ADMA goes Mobile with Beacon Technology

*

ADMA will be using some exciting new technology at its ADMA Global Forum on the 4th and the 5th of August at the Sydney Hilton. The event is a two-day, seven stream conference aiming to change the world of data-driven marketing, media and advertising. ADMA is Australia’s largest marketing body whose members include Australia’s leading advertisers, marketers, agencies, tele-marketing and production companies. Event app company ShowGizmo and location-based marketing company iProximity have teamed up to integrate iProximity's technology into ShowGizmo, allowing ADMA Global Forum attendees to experience exciting location-based interactions; Beacons placed throughout the Forum will allow delegates to receive in-app notifications, ticketing on arrival, and seminar specific information when delegates arrive at certain locations.

ShowGizmo CEO Marie-Claire Andrews, said: “The partnership with iProximity was an obvious one for us, as our flexible app architecture makes it easy to include awesome new integrations for specific events, but more than that, their innovation and their team are a pleasure to work with and will bring real magic to ADMA.” David Burden, CEO of ADMA, added: “ADMA Global Forum is the largest data-driven marketing conference in the Asia-Pacific region and we have to have the latest data-driven technology to showcase at our event. We hope the new ShowGizmo app will deliver on providing a fun, engaging, relevant and personalised experience for our delegates – one that really walks the talk.”

Another Creative LIAsons speaker announced for the LIA

*

Ralph van Dijk, the founder and creative director of Eardrum, has been announced as a speaker at the London International Awards 2015 Creative LIAsons program. Joining an already impressive line-up of industry speakers, including Matt Eastwood, Pum Lefebure and Keynote speaker Daymond John, Ralph will also act as the program’s moderator, injecting his appreciation of powerful production and performance into bridging together this year’s eclectic line-up of speakers. Ralph is set to speak to the more than 100 young creatives attending the fourth annual Creative LIAsons program. Creative LIAsons (formerly known as ‘Creative Conversations’) runs concurrently with the LIA judging in Las Vegas and is LIA's way of giving back to the industry. This mentoring program is fully funded by LIA, encompassing travel, accommodations, rewarding speaker presentations, a peek into the statue deliberations and various networking opportunities with jurors and speakers in a relaxed social setting.

He said: “It’s always an honour to be invited to speak at Creative LIAsons. The program is one of our industry’s most generous initiatives and if you’re an ambitious creative, it’s like getting a backstage pass to the ultimate advertising gig. I’m looking forward to challenging a few preconceptions surrounding radio and audio. People today are connected to so many exciting new platforms – usually through their headphones – so it’s high time we explored all the opportunities as we enter this new golden age of audio. Knowing how to write for the spoken word, cast great actors and direct authentic performances are skills every creative should at least appreciate. I’ll hopefully be able to pass on a few tips as well as engender a healthy disrespect for the way agencies currently approach sound. As for the rest of the week, those lucky enough to be selected will get up close and personal to the biggest names in the business, find out how they got where they are today and discover what makes them tick.”

Lowe & Partners South Africa claim Grand Prix at ACA Apex Awards

*

Lowe & Partners SA have emerged as one of the leading agency groups at the ACA Apex Awards for Effectiveness securing the Grand Prix, a Gold, Silver, and a Special Award in its particular category. The OIL@Lowe Cape Town team received the ultimate accolade of the evening, The Grand Prix, as well as a Gold and the Special Award for the Organ Donor Foundation “GetMeTo21” campaign. The win was made all the more poignant in that Jenna Lowe who fronted the #Getmeto21 campaign for the Organ Donation Society recently passed away after a long and brave fight after receiving a lung transplant. OIL@Lowe Johannesburg also received a Silver Award in the Sustain category for the Slow-Mag campaign.

Get Me To 21

On the win of the night, Lowe Cape Town ECD Kirk Gainsford, said: “I’ve heard too many advertising people say, ‘it’s only advertising’, but if we truly believe in what we do every day, we have to believe creativity can change the world. We believe in the importance of what we do. And every brief is an opportunity to create positive change, for our clients, their customers and our planet. It’s never only advertising.” Of the work that won them the award, he added: “Jenna Lowe’s legacy is that she has and continues to change Organ Donation in South Africa and globally.” According to Julian Ribeiro, CEO of Lowe & Partners SA: “This is a great result for our company, and affirms our belief that outstanding creativity delivers results.” He goes on to applaud his teams, “Congratulations to all the talented teams who contributed to the development of both of these campaigns, and thanks to our clients for entrusting their brands to us.”

Eurobest delegate registration now open

*

Eurobest, the Festival of European Creativity which this year moves to Antwerp, has opened for delegate registrations. Among the new initiatives at the 2015 edition is the Creative Basecamp, a central hub for young talent. Together with the Creative Club of Belgium, Eurobest has introduced the Creative Basecamp to enhance the young delegate’s experience of the Festival. The Pulcinella Hostel in Antwerp will become the Creative Basecamp from 1-3 December and will provide the young generation with accommodation, briefings, opportunities to meet speakers and jurors, master classes and evening events. Registrations for the Festival are now open with delegate passes providing access to three days of carefully curated seminars and networking events as well as access to the best in European creative communications through exhibitions, screenings and the much anticipated awards ceremony.

With discovery at its heart, Eurobest moves to different European cities helping to inspire local creative communities and unlock new ideas and places. The 2015 Festival moves to Antwerp, which Louise Benson, Festival Director of Eurobest, said was an easy decision to make. “Belgium is one of the smallest countries in Europe and has a disproportionately creative output. A staggering one in six people in Antwerp are employed in the creative industries and it has a real commitment to nurturing creative talent. We’re really excited to be taking Eurobest to this forward-thinking, inspiring city.” Philip Thomas, CEO Lions Festivals, added: “The Creative Basecamp goes much further than just providing a space – it’s a home, a meeting place and an inspiration hub. It’s a great addition to Eurobest and helps maintain our commitment to nurturing young talent.”
