Ogilvy & Hogarth join forces

Yesterday, Ogilvy & Mather announced an exciting partnership with Hogarth Worldwide, their sister WPP company. H&O (Hogarth & Ogilvy) is a new company, a joint venture between the two power houses that brings the resources and technology of the world's leading production agency into the world's most creative agency. H&O will be based in London, standing alongside Hogarth with a presence in 48 Ogilvy offices, creating the largest marketing implementation group in the world. Ogilvy's production unit, RedWorks, will also be consolidated into this new company, giving clients access to even more resources and even more options, as well as Hogarth's unique offerings, which include full broadcast and moving image capability, a market leading language and transcreation service and proprietary technology solutions.

Jonathan Adler will be joining the new group as its global CEO and Ginny Maycox, currently COO of O&M West, will serve as global CFO. Duncan Stokes, who as Global CEO of RedWorks for the last two years has grown it into the world's largest creative production company, will lead H&O in EAME as well as taking global responsibility with Adler for managing the changes that will be implemented throughout the company. RedWorks veterans Xavier Carou and Michael Burgess will be CEO in Latina America and Asia Pacific respectively, while in North America, Matt Bonin will serve as chief production officer and Jonathan Parker as chief operations officer. Of his appointment to the top role at the new company, Adler, who has spent his entire career in advertising and doesn't think there's a sector of the industry he hasn't worked in, says “The opportunity to combine two great global companies was irresistible,” and he is extremely excited about what the future holds for H&O, “Helping deliver Ogilvy's vision of the future.”

Miles Young, Worldwide Chairman and CEO of Ogilvy & Mather said that he's “Always believed that to be a truly integrated world-class communications agency,” Ogilvy needs to be best-in-class in all of their specialist disciplines. “Marketing implementation is no exception” he says, “Especially in this new age of marketing and branding.” He calls H&O Ogilvy's response to the ever-changing needs of their clients, and their growing role as content producers and distributors. He aspires for it to be “An ideas-delivery engine sitting at the heart of Ogilvy that will change the conversation about how brands are brought to the market dynamically.” Barry Jones, CEO of Hogarth Worldwide, explains H&O as a brand new concept that “Puts a creative realisation engine at the heart of a creative powerhouse.” He adds that “With Hogarth going from strength to strength, having H&O in parallel” gives them the opportunity to bring their unique capabilities directly to Ogilvy's vast client base.

Hogarth opened for business in 2008 with just 14 people operating out of an attic room above a small shop near London's Carnaby Street. In less than 7 years it's gone from strength to strength, expanding to over 1,200 employees servicing major clients like Dyson, GSK, Mattel, Vodafone across 21 offices in all four regions of the world. They have made a major impact on the production world since launch. Hogarth's Gramercy Park Studios facility in London is one of the newest and most advanced post production studios in Europe, whilst in print production they offer global production at scale and in digital Hogarth has developed a range of innovative technologies in-house. In transcreation. Meanwhile, Hogarth is generally recognised as the world's largest provider. By joining forces with Ogilvy, one of the world's largest advertising networks, Hogarth should really increase their standing as a leading marketing implementation agency.
