Mother London go even more epic for MoneySuperMarket

Published by

ITV viewers in the UK on Saturday night were treated to another outstanding show of talent as MoneySuperMarket premiered an Epic Dance Off with a difference as part of the broadcaster’s Proud to Present initiative. The latest instalment of the price comparison site’s “You’re So MoneySuperMarket” campaign, created by Mother London, brought together the protagonists from the last three ads, as they battle it out over 120 seconds to show how epic they feel after saving money with MoneySuperMarket. Viewers were treated to a unique dance off that combines the “Epic Strut” of hot pant-wearing businessman Dave, the Wrecking Ball of “Epic Builder” Colin and the most recent MoneySuperMarket mover, Gary, and his “Epic Wolf.” The advert initially aired on Saturday (April 9) during the first ad break of Britain’s Got Talent on ITV, and will be further amplified through a multi-channel integrated campaign across PR, digital and social media, using the hashtag #EpicDanceOff.

Colin

The scene is set in an underground car park, where Colin is unloading scaffolding from his van and suddenly spots Dave strutting his stuff across the concrete. Dave throws down the gauntlet - and his shopping - initiating MoneySuperMarket’s Epic Dance Off. Colin fights back with a range of twirls and twists, and the two battle it out in a sassy showdown. Joining the battle, Gary grooves his way into proceedings from behind a pillar and delivers a mesmerising set of signature body popping moves, including the ‘pop ‘n’ lock’ and ‘wave’. This in turn drives Dave and Colin to up the ante with a sensational display of swinging hips, swaying arms, high kicks and of course, the famous worm from Colin. The battle ends with a recognisable voice praising their respective performances. Who won? You decide!

#EPICDANCEOFF

Darren Bentley, Marketing Director at MoneySuperMarket, said: “We’re always looking for new and engaging ways to illustrate how ‘epic’ people feel when they save money at MoneySuperMarket. Dave, Colin and Gary have displayed that feeling individually over the last year and now we feel it’s time to bring them back together to show what they’ve got in an Epic Dance Off you won’t want to miss. As for who’s best – that’s up to the great British public to decide!”

Dave

Kyle Harman-Turner and Martin Rose, Creative Directors at Mother, said: “Following our previous campaign, fans have spent the past few months debating who’s the ‘most MoneySuperMarket’ on social media. Celebrities from Boy George to Peter Crouch have even entered the debate. Some prefer the hot-pant and high-heeled strutting of Dave, while others see themselves in pole-dancing builder Colin, or body-popping security guard Gary. Therefore it’s only right that we give the public exactly what they’ve been asking for; a sassy dance off to settle it once and for all. We worked with director Noam Murro to capture the three money-saving men as they are unleashed to shake what their mothers gave them in an underground car park. We’ll leave it to you to decide who’s the most epic.”
