Leo Burnett announce new top dog in China

Published by

It was announced yesterday by Leo Burnett Asia Pacific CEO Jarek Ziebinski, that Danny Mok has been appointed as CEO of Leo Burnett China, effective as of today (February 10). Mok will report directly to Ziebinski, and will be responsible for the agency's operations in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai, where he'll be based in this new role. He will essentially be fulfilling responsibilities that Ziebinski absorbed last year when Eddie Booth stepped down as regional chairman and CEO of Leo Burnett China after 15 years. Mok is a seasoned marketer with two decades of experience on both sides of the industry across Shanghai and Hong Kong. His track record is exemplary, with time spent at some of the largest agencies in the region, such as Grey, BBDO and PCCW.

He joins Leo Burnett after a stint as chief marketing officer for CSL Limited, a mobile communications operator in Hong Kong. He previously spent eight years at Grey in Shanghai and Hong Kong, and during his time in Shanghai, he managed to help turn the agency around after it's acquisition by WPP, even winning the agency its first Cannes Lion in 2011. He doubled the business of both agencies during his tenure and helped to establish Grey Hong Kong's reputation as one of the leading agencies across local, regional and global creative award shows.
