J. Walter Thompson London introduces Pioneers grad scheme

Published by

J. Walter Thompson London has reinvigorated its famous grad scheme by opening it up to everybody and extending the disciplines on offer. Called JWT Pioneers, the new scheme is still looking for the brightest range of talent for Account Management, Planning and Creative Production roles, but to represent the diversity of the agency’s offering it will also be looking for applicants with any background who might be great for specialisms from shopper marketing to CRM, insight and analytics to experiential and activation.

JWT Pioneers will also adopt a blind recruitment approach. In the first instance applicants will answer 6 questions which will be used to assess them for interview selection rather than the traditional CV, which depends heavily on academic results and work experience, both of which limit diversity of opportunity to enter our industry. A CV will still be asked for but will only be used in the later stages and will not form any part of the initial selection process.

Kate Bruges, Co-Director of Talent at J Walter Thompson London, said: “We know that talent comes in a huge variety of forms and from different backgrounds and generations. You might be a recent graduate, a school leaver or, alternatively, you might have been working for a few years and realise you yearn to do something more creative. We really don’t mind what your background is and whether your interest is in analytics, PR or film. What matters to us is that you are Curious, Courageous, Capable and Collaborative.”

To give everyone an opportunity to find out more, J. Walter Thompson London is holding an open day at 15:00 GMT+1 on Tuesday August 2 at its offices in 1 Knightsbridge Green. To book a place email [email protected]. The deadline for applications for JWT Pioneers is midday on Monday 12 September, with interviews week commencing 17 October. Successful applicants will be invited to a seminar day during the week commencing 14 November in Knightsbridge. Anyone chosen will start at J. Walter Thompson on Monday 16 January 2017.
