This week, TBWA\Chiat\Day New York appointed former Saatchi & Saatchi NY EVP Rodes Ponzer as Global Brand Leader on the Accenture account. The agency has also hired three new Group Account Directors: Carrie Lipper to lead the BNY Mellon account; Ben Muldrew to run the Michelin business; and Khara Wagner, who will lead the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Nutrilite accounts. The appointments mark the first set of key hires under TBWA\Chiat\Day NY CEO Rob Schwartz, who joined to lead the agency in January of this year.

Lowe Roche

Lowe and Partners announced this week the promotions of Marie-Lise Campeau and Jeff Dack to co-presidents of Lowe Roche, the global network’s Toronto operation. In their new roles, Campeau has been named Co-President, Chief Operating Officer, and will be responsible for agency operations, account management and production excellence. Dack has been named Co-President, Chief Strategy Officer and will be responsible for client strategy, creative excellence and business development.

Together, they will fill the role previously held by Monica Ruffo who departed Lowe Roche in February. “Marie-Lise and Jeff are accomplished executives with the expertise to lead our clients, team and operations in Toronto,” said Michael Wall, Lowe and Partners CEO. “Both will have key roles in delivering powerful ideas for our clients, as well as driving growth in the Canadian market.”

 

Lowe Campbell Ewald

Marketing communications agency Lowe Campbell Ewald has named Angela Zepeda as president and CMO. In her new role, Zepeda, who previously served as president and MD of Lowe Campbell Ewald’s Los Angeles office, will assume responsibility in leading the agency in new business development, focusing on the external marketing and promotion of the agency across the US, as well as continuing her role in fostering key client relationships. For the past 10 years, Zepeda has been instrumental in building Lowe Campbell Ewald’s Los Angeles office with organic growth of current clients, as well as being responsible for new business development leading to partnerships with numerous top clients. She will report directly to CEO Jim Palmer.

Leo Burnett London

Leo Burnett London has appointed Zoe Crowther as its new Marketing and Business Development Director. Crowther previously worked at Beattie McGuinness Bungay as Business Director for nine years, as was responsible for running and growing some of the agency’s key accounts and successfully pitching and winning new business. She will be responsible for the agency’s marketing output and business development. This marks a return to Leo Burnett for Crowther, who began her advertising career at the agency in 2001 following a stint as Marketing Executive at Marks & Spencer. She left the agency in 2003 to work at WCRS. CEO Paul Lawson, who she will be reporting to, said: “Zoe is spot on for us in terms of personality, intellect and drive. She has the right focus to lead our new business and marketing for the future.”

 

Leo Burnett China

Danny Mok, CEO of Leo Burnett China has announced the appointment of Sharon Chen as chief strategy officer. In her new role, Chen will be based out of Shanghai and has been tasked to lead the agency’s strategy function, working closely with Mok to instil the humankind planning culture across Leo Burnett offices in China. 
Chen began her career in advertising as an account executive at Saatchi & Saatchi in Taiwan in 1994. Two years later, she moved over to the strategy and planning function at JWT and never looked back. 

In addition to Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT, she has also worked at Ogilvy and Havas Group (previously known as EURO RSCG).

Havas Adwork

Havas Adwork welcomes Maulana Sagala and Norashikin Manjit as executive creative directors. They will both report to Matt Wiggers, who was recently appointed CEO. 

Sagala joins the agency with more than a decade’s worth of experience in the industry, starting out as a strategic planner for two years before moving on to be a copywriter at communications agencies such as LOWE, Ogilvy and Publicis. His background in planning has helped him to constantly generate creative ideas that answer to client’s business challenges and objectives. 

In addition, his works have received both local and international recognition at awards shows such as Citra Pariwara, Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia, One Show, AdFest, London International Awards and Adstars. 

Previously at McCann Erickson, Manjit has been in the industry for over 15 years, starting out in Malaysia with clients such as Dunhill, Carlsberg and Malaysia Airlines. Since making her way to Indonesia, she has built a formidable reputation with Coca-Cola, Nescafe and L’Oreal.

Y&R Labstore

Y&R has announced the appointment of Tim O’Sullivan as Managing Director, North America for Labstore, the agency’s global retail and shopper marketing network. Previously, O’Sullivan was VP, Managing Director CPG & Shopper Marketing at Bravo. In his new role, he will continue to oversee shopper marketing for the U.S. Hispanic market shop, splitting his time between Y&R global headquarters in New York and Miami, where Bravo is based. He will report into Jon Bird, Global Managing Director of Labstore and will continue to also report into Eric Hoyt, President and CEO of Bravo. He launched his career at P&G, where he spent 20 years building and leading high-performance teams in brand management and sales. While there, he helped launch dozens of new brands and products across the US and Latin America, and was instrumental in making Latin America the fastest-growing region for Pringles.

Y&R Singapore has announced the appointment of Yousuf Rangoonwala as director of strategy. 

Rangoonwala’s 10 years in advertising span agencies like BBH, W+K and McCann in India and Indonesia and he has picked up numerous and recognition awards in the last few years including two APPIES strategy Golds in 2014. 

Since 2011, he’s also won seven Effies and a WARC Highly Commended, making him one of India's most awarded advertising strategists.
