Jack Morton Worldwide

Jack Morton Worldwide has appointed Keith Chamarette as the new director of digital at its London office. Chamarette has over 17 years of experience in digital, with time served at agencies such as Positive Digital, Publicis Modem and WARL, leading accounts for premier brands including LG Electronics, Hewlett-Packard, BT, Tesco Clothing and Proctor & Gamble. The Jack Morton digital team, which Chamarette will be leading, is currently working with Freeview and has recently launched the latest phase of the brand’s “Entertainment, it’s even better when it’s free” campaign. The London office’s digital team is part of the Jack Morton Worldwide network and linked to Genuine Interactive, Jack Morton’s US-based full service digital agency.

Chamarette is “Thrilled to be joining the team,” and says it's “Jack Morton’s drive to create extraordinary work and the opportunity to develop an even more seamless unity between live experience and the digital world” that attracted him to the agency. He add that “Digital touch points are now such an integral part of everyday life” so it is it is imperative that he helps the agency place this behavioural insight and knowledge at the forefront of all their planning and ideas. Julian Pullan, president of the EMEA region for Jack Morton Worldwide, said that “Keith’s vast wealth of experience and creativity along with his clear passion for the industry is outstanding.” He calls Chamarette an “Exciting addition to the EMEA team.”

 

Grey Group Singapore

Konstantin Popovic joins Grey Group Singapore as executive vice president and global business director for Grey GSK. He'll be reporting to Alina Kessel, executive vice president and managing director for global client service, and Nirvik Singh, chairman and CEO of Grey Group Asia Pacific. In this role, Popovic will oversee Grey’s GSK consumer healthcare portfolio across APAC, and will also look after Panadol globally.

 He started his career at BBDO in Germany before moving to their Chicago office and then on to New York. During his time BBDO he led brands as diverse as Wrigley, Johnson & Johnson and Best Buy.

 Before joining Grey, Popovic was in Publicis New York, where he was the brand agency leader for P&G’s Digestive Wellness and PGT (Procter & Gamble Company and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.) Healthcare brands.

Singh is “Excited to have Konstantin join the GSK leadership team,” and calls Popovic an “Accomplished professional with deep knowledge and experience who brings unique insights from his diverse international and industry experience. He adds that the new EVP and global business director “Has the mind of a brand strategist with powerful creative thinking and a reputation of being a strong and effective leader,” and believes he will be a great asset to the team. Kessel, meanwhile, looks forward 

“To working with Konstantin to deliver outstanding results for GSK,” and feels that “His appointment underscores Grey’s commitment to continuously raise the bar in the region.”

MPC LA

This week, MPC LA announced the arrival of Jason Schugardt as head of 3D. Over the span of his 19-year VFX career, Schugardt has worked on an impressive body of work in both commercials and feature films. He brings global on-set and supervisory experience, with time spent at leading boutiques and large facilities including Sony Imageworks, Weta Digital, MPC Film, Asylum VFX, and most recently, Method Studios. His extensive background in 3D and knack for developing new VFX techniques has led him to work on some highly acclaimed commercial projects, and he has also led projects for Acura and Time Warner Cable. Among feature achievements, Jason has worked on four Oscar-winning films including David Fincher's “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and Peter Jackson's “King Kong.”

MPC LA has announced the arrival of Jason Schugardt as head of 3D

Schugardt is “Excited to be part of the world-class team at MPC LA,” and says his focus is to bring “Talented people together to ensure a very personalised experience to clients, while drawing on the strength and scale of MPC’s global network.” He hopes that together, they will “Instil a special blend of creative workflow and technical expertise into every project.” Andrew Bell, MPC LA managing director, adds that Schugardt is a critical part of the leadership team, and feels that “His perspective, having worked on projects of all shapes and sizes from around the world, will be invaluable” as they continue to build on MPC’s established reputation.

 

Maxus

Maxus has appointed Alex Steer as head of data and effectiveness, with Steer set to lead a team of six analysts working across a range of clients for the media agency, building data models to measure the performance and effectiveness of campaigns. Steer began his career as a WPP fellow, most recently working for digital content agency Fabric where he was head of product and analytics working for clients including Samsung, Glaxo-Smith-Kline, Heineken and News International.

Maxus chief operating officer Tim Irwin, said “t is great to have found someone with as much energy and passion for the role data can play in advertising effectiveness as Alex.” He hopes that Steer “Will be a great inspiration for the team,” and that he will really drive the smart use of data for their clients. Steer added “Data has so much potential to power better marketing communications,” and feels this appointment is “An opportunity to really drive Maxus’ growth through data.” He hopes “To be able to develop simple, scalable approaches to using data to drive performance and growth” for clients.

 

18 Feet & Rising

Paul Spriggs has joined 18 Feet & Rising as chief operating officer as part of a senior management team boost for the agency. He relocated from Australia to join the agency’s London office on 9 March, and will also serve as a board member in his new role. He'll report to Jonathan Trimble, the agency’s chief executive, and will be given the opportunity to become a shareholder in the agency after six months. Spriggs most recently ran his own consultancy, but has worked as a group business director at Leo Burnett, as a regional director for JWT in Sydney and as a regional account director for Fallon in New York.

18 Feet & Rising has also hired freelancer Graham Fowles as its group strategy director, reporting to strategy partner, Rob Ward. Prior to his time as a freelance, he worked at M&C Saatchi and WCRS. Edward Rosoman has also joined as a group business director from Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, where he was an account director and worked on Vodafone, Lloyds Bank and The BBC. Matt Keon, 18 Feet & Rising’s executive creative director, said that Spriggs is “One of the few people that has an innate understanding of how clients businesses work as well as a pin-point strategic outlook.” He calls Spriggs a “World class talent” and says they are “Lucky to have him” and the agency.

 

Naked Communications

Matthew Bagwell has joined Naked Communications Europe as managing director. In this role he will oversee the day to day running of the business, whilst continuing to ensure an emphasis on the business effectiveness and ROI of the agency’s Strategic Creative Solutions. Gagwell was previously AKQA's international director of strategic services and prior to that he led strategic and creative teams at EMC (formerly Conchango) and Syzygy. Bagwell joins as Naked Communications opens the door to their new flexible office space, a collaborative project between Naked and Bluebottle Architecture and Design, which is a reflection of their philosophy to creating great work.

Bagwell believes “There is a positive change happening at Naked, and feels that he and the agency “Share a vision for the future.” He's joining to “Help turn that vision into reality, building on the great success the agency has enjoyed to date.” Christian Gladwell, Naked Communications CEO Europe said that Bagwell's “Experience, sensitivity and nous make him the ideal member of the Management Team.”
