Havas Worldwide and Iris gain new heads of film

Published by

Last week there was a bit of a shakeup at Havas Worldwide London, with Leila Bartlam leaving the agency for a job at Iris as head of TV, film and content, and Lucy Powell moving to claim Bartlam's vacated role. Powell has been a TV producer at Havas since 2013 and has previous experience in similar roles at JWT and BBH, where she began her career. She'll be leading a team of 20 film and content staffers, overseeing all film and content production at the agency, working alongside Mark Fairbanks, the agency's executive creative director, to strengthen the agency's filmic output.

Powell will be reporting directly to Havas Worldwide London's chief executive Russ Lidstone, who pegged Powell as part of an “Exciting new generation of leader in film and TV.” He went on to say that she has “Proven herself to be as excited by, and brilliant at, small scale video content creation through to large scale productions,” and so will be a valuable asset whether she's working on large-scale TV spots or 30-second digital videos. He said “It's great to have her lead the film team.“

Bartlam, meanwhile, has taken a similar role at Iris, an agency also based in London, where she'll be leading a team of more than 30 people in creating TV, film and content for clients such as Adidas, Britvic, Domino's and Mini. She'll be reporting to chief executive Dan Saxby and executive creative director Chris Baylis, who himself only joined the company earlier this year from Tribal Worldwide London. Saxby said that Iris are continuing to “Invest in world-class talent,” and feels that Bartlam brings “a wealth of experience, passion and a reputation for cutting-edge ideas and delivery” to the role. He feels she will be a strong leader to the film and content team.

Before joining Havas, Bartlam spent a year as managing director at the production company Cut & Run, and has also served as head of TV at Adam & Eve, a position she held from 2008 until just after the agency's merger with DDB London.
