Havas London and 2AM use cutting edge sound tech to promote Warming Eye Mask

Published by

We all use music to relax. Inspired by that notion, Optrex has developed a unique sound innovation to help take users to the elusive 'Cloud 9' using cutting edge sound technology. Optrex and Havas London collaborated with renowned sound designer, electronic musician and former DJ, Ash Sargant, to create soothing playlists that complement the use of Optrex’s first Warming Eye Mask for the UK. It takes just 10 minutes to relax tired eyes using the Warming Eye Mask's Microsteam technology, and each playlist has been made to match. Using the sounds all around us as inspiration, the YouTube playlist transforms the mundane tapping of keyboards or monotonous creaking of floorboards and mixes them into something peaceful to help enhance the relaxation experience. The Cloud 9 film, which is part of an exhaustive £1.3 million campaign, follows Ash on his journey to making his playlists. We see him travelling on a packed commuter train, wandering an empty airport terminal building in the middle of the night and even capturing the noises we hear every day in a bustling office. He then works his magic to remix them into a unique combination of tracks for the Cloud 9 playlists.

The film was directed by James Caddick through 2AM, who said of the project: “It was a lovely brief and there was a great deal of freedom afforded me and my team. The client was also totally on board, this was really new territory for them, but they allowed us to get on and do our job. The idea felt like an immediately filmic story that I could relate to, one man on a mission going against the flow. Ash was great to work with. Despite being quite camera shy, he really got into the project and was always happy to do another take. It was a big challenge for me and my team in terms of budget vs scale/ambition. It’s real thinking on your feet stuff, guerrilla style filmmaking and I loved that. The project came together perfectly in the online thanks to a beautiful grade from colourist Matt Turner at Absolute and final sound design which was so integral to the project from Dave Cooper at Scramble. I loved making this film. Next up I want something bigger with a similar attitude of trust and enthusiasm. I reckon with that team we can make some really spectacular work.” The full Cloud 9 Recordings playlist is available HERE or can be found in full below:-
