Grey Mexico's YouTube tutorials kill two birds with one stone

Published by

Latin American hardware store Construrama has launched a new campaign informing consumers about DIY best practices, while at the same time helping to rebuild Puerto Rico following hurricane damage in 2017.

Two years ago, the country was hit by the worst weather it had experienced for 100 years and the devastation is still being felt with many homes and buildings needing attention.

The new work from Grey Mexico features a series of YouTube tutorial videos that see the hosts on location at some of the areas that were hit. As they offer DIY tips to viewers, the videos show the presenters repairing real damage caused by the hurricanes at schools and community centres affected.

DIY or ‘how to’ video tutorials are one of the most commonly searched genres on YouTube and are growing at a rate of around 70% each year. However, most of them don’t physically achieve anything beyond being a demonstration.

The Construrama clips offer practical advice for online viewers at home while also doing their bit for the storm damage.
