Biggest Adverts of the Super Bowl 2013

Published by

Another Budweiser ad has taken the top spot again in this year's Super Bowl. Also up for the top spot were Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.

The winning ad in this year's battle of the Bowl has already been shared over 450,000 times and has been viewed more than 4.7 million times on YouTube in just 7 days as according to Unruly Media.

Budweiser's 60 second advert was created by Anomaly, under the direction of RSA Films' Jake Scott, son of Ridley Scott. The ad features a horse trainer reunited with the 'Budweiser Clydesdale' horse he bred 3 years earlier.

The iconic Budweiser branding has only a small part to play in the ad, with a bottle of Budweiser being featured only once, although a branded baseball cap is worn by the trainer throughout the ad.

The ad has been shared over 1.5 million times on Facebook and 10,000 times on Twitter globally. This is the 2nd time in 3 years that Budweiser has reached the top spot of the Super Bowl's advertising league. In 2011 Bud Light reached the top spot with their 'dog sitter' ad by DDB, which topped a poll in USA Today as the nation's favourite.

Volkswagen was 2nd in the most shared globally rankings, with "get in, get happy" by Deutsch LA. It reached over 8 million YouTube views and 224,000 Facebook shares in the last 7 days.

Mercedes-Benz's, "soul", by Merkley + Partners was the third most shared advert of 2013, with over 120,000 shares on Facebook, more than 4,700 shares on Twitter and over 3 million views on YouTube.
