Awards Update: Deadline extensions for D&AD Impact Awards and 2016 LIA Awards

Published by

For those of you who have been holding off on entering either the inaugural D&AD Impact Awards or the 2016 LIAs for any reason, you're in luck. The deadlines for both were extended this week. D&AD Impact issued the final deadline for it's inaugural Impact Awards. Businesses, charities and agencies have until the 15th August to get their entries in to win at new global award show. The LIA entry deadline, meanwhile, has been extended to 24th August. For more on each, see below.

D&AD Impact Awards

D&AD Impact seeks to identify and celebrate great, transformative, creative ideas that have had real impact and, ultimately, contribute towards a better, fairer and more sustainable future for all. Where brands use creativity for the greater good. D&AD Impact accepts any project or initiative that seeks to build a brand or business by having a positive impact on the world. Entire Business Concepts, Business Initiatives, Marketing Campaigns, Public/Community Projects and Products are all welcome. Winning work will be rewarded a White Pencil, the premier accolade for creativity for good at the inaugural ceremony in September 2016. This new initiative is the result of a partnership between D&AD and Advertising Week. Advertising Week draws from brands, agencies, media, technology and startup companies, in addition to broader cultural communities to curate a hybrid of thought leadership and special events worldwide.

The diverse selection of jurors (a mix of creatives, designers, marketers, C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, journalists and thought leaders) will be looking to award a D&AD Pencil based on three criteria: an original and innovative idea at its core; clear and measurable impact in its chosen category area; and relevance to the business’ commercial needs. D&AD Impact is open for submissions, to enter work or to find out more please visit the D&AD Impact website.

LIA 2016

A brand-new medium, “Verbal Identity,” has been added to the LIA Awards for 2016, complete with its own dedicated Jury. Verbal Identity centres on the long-term verbal assets of a brand, from hard-hitting tag lines and end lines to unique tones of voice. The other Categories for 2016 are as follows: Billboard, Branded Entertainment, Design, Digital, Integration, Music & Sound, Music Video, Non-Traditional, Package Design, Poster, Print, Production & Post-Production, Radio & Audio, The NEW and TV/Cinema/Online Film.

Top-class jury panels from across the globe will judge the entries. All companies and/or individuals involved in the creative process are eligible to enter. Work submitted must be broadcast, published or released in a commercial environment with client approval between 1st July 2015 and 31st July 2016. Additionally, there is still time for entrants that have already completed the entry process to enter newly released work. Judging will take place in Las Vegas from 6th October to 14th October. The shortlists will be announced as each judging session concludes, with Winners being announced 2nd November. For more information on submissions and eligibility, please visit the LIA website.
