Published by

It's the start of November, which means it's time to put the kettle on, sit back and watch the barrage of Christmas ads already launched by brands this year.

In the mix at this point are many of the big supermarkets with celebs such as Mariah Carey and Paddy Mcguinness appearing to promote the festive theme.

Here's Creativepool's pick the best ads so far with credit to the agencies and production houses behind the work...

Aldi: The Amazing Show

Aldi's Christmas ad sees the return of Kevin the Carrot along with a whole host of animated food characters following on from the Wicked Parsnip last year.

The Amazing Aldi Christmas Show introduces the Flying Tra-peas and a guest appearance from bad guy Russell Sprout while Robbie Williams' Let Me Entertain You is reworked for the special occasion. The work was created by McCann Manchester and Stink.

Amazon: Everybody Needs Somebody

Amazon brings a singalong and puts smiles on faces in its Christmas contribution in 2019 as its branded boxes join the chorus of classic hit Everybody Needs Somebody to Love.

The ad, from Lucky Generals and Smuggler, sees people travelling and spending time with loved ones while the Amazon boxes join in each scene to bring the festive spirit.

Argos: The Book of Dreams

Argos renames its catalogue ‘The Book of Dreams’ as a dad’s childhood fantasy becomes reality when he sees the drumkit his daughter has circled.

The spot was created by The&Partnership with Stink and is set to Don't You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds.

Asda: Let's Make Christmas Extra Special

Follow Jack and Tilly as they spread Christmas magic around their town in Asda's Christmas ad created by AMV BBDO and Stink.

It's got fairy dust aplenty and magical festive feels from start to end.

Cineworld: Take the Guesswork Out of Gifting This Christmas

Guessing what gifts to buy loved ones is always hard work, and Cineworld reflects the struggle by putting a cinematic twist on the game of Charades in 2019.

Creative agency TWELVE developed the campaign with production company Linney to produce a cinema-quality ad that promotes the larger-than-life gift of cinema while also previewing upcoming films such as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Frozen 2.

Dogs Trust: A Dog's for Life, Not Just for Christmas

Charity Dogs Trust created the A dog is for life, not just for Christmas slogan over 40 years ago to remind people to only get a dog when they are truly ready for the lifelong commitment.

Its latest ad, for Christmas 2019, comes courtesy of AndRising and Moxie Pictures.

FedEx: Gift Box

FedEx delivers millions of packages around the world every day. But the company also claims to deliver imagination in its latest campaign to coincide with Christmas.

BBDO New York and Biscuit Filmworks do the honours as a cardboard box becomes the best gift a child could receive at this time of year.

Iceland Foods: #MagicofFrozen

Iceland makes the connection between its frozen food range and Disney's upcoming Frozen 2 film, which hits cinemas on 22 November.

It incorporates charades, the go-to festive game for families, to tell the story and promotes the perfect Christmas dinner.

Lidl: A Christmas You Can Believe in

Lidl prides itself on being Big on a Christmas you can believe in. That means everything from naughty treats to the joys of giving and getting more for your money.

“There’s a better Christmas than the one we see in films. It’s one where love is actually in the air, where family and friends enjoying great food and drink is all that matters. It’s a Christmas you can believe in and you’ll find it at Lidl,” said Joe Holt and Luke Ramm, creative directors at Karmarama.

M&S Food: This Is Not Just Food... This Is M&S Christmas Food

Ready for your tastiest Christmas yet? Welcome to the M&S Food Christmas Market – where good food and festive fun collide to create a truly magical Christmas experience.

Paddy Mcguinness and Emma Willis star as they meet the brand's product developers and try this year's festive food stars: sweet Torched Berry Pavlova, ooey gooey Brie En Croûte and the ultimate centrepiece, The Perfect Turkey.

Macy's: Santa Girl

Macy’s Santa Girl is a holiday commercial from BBDO New York and Reset about the wonder of the season, reminding both young and old that anything is possible if you believe.

After seeing Santa in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV, a little girl called Virginia wants to spread joy throughout the world just like St. Nick. The ad sees her take to the snowy streets in her “sleigh” to leave gifts on her neighbour’s doorsteps.

TK Maxx: Gift Different

Same old, same old. Year in, year out. It’s time to shake off that shopping autopilot and break the monotony of Christmas gifting.

TK Maxx's festive ad sees a Santa with a difference ski down snowy slopes to deliver presents for everyone through Wieden+Kennedy London and Somesuch.

Very.co.uk: Get More Out of Giving

Very's Christmas ad tells the story of a community that comes together to give Sidney, a lonely man, a Christmas that he’ll never forget.

Watch as the community races to pack a pink parcel full of Christmas delights to make the festive season special for their neighbour in a spot from St Lukes and Passion Animation.

Walkers: All Mariah Carey wants this Christmas

See what happens behind the scenes when global megastar Mariah Carey and a Christmas elf discover the last bag of Walkers Pigs in Blankets.

AMV BBDO and Caviar are the companies behind the spot which is led by Carey's classic Christmas song All I Want for Christmas is You.

Zalando: Christmas 2019

Zalando has a wide selection of clothes, shoes and accessories available at its online store and this year's Christmas spot reflects that range with an inclusive theme.

Created by Mother and Somesuch it sees an elderly woman taken dancing by a younger man at a party where the young and old come together to celebrate their style and personalities.

Stay tuned for more Christmas magic from adland sure to be imminent. Let us know what you think of the selection so far in the comments and reminisce on last year's bunch here.
