72andSunny’s creative residency 72U comes to Amsterdam

Published by

72andSunny is excited to announce the opening of applications to the first European session of 72U. The 3-month creative residency will be based in the company’s Amsterdam office.

Participants of the 2016 Amsterdam session will work on three projects: a project for the city of Amsterdam, a project to push the boundaries of creativity, and a project with a global brand. They will be integrated into the agency culturally and practically, where they will learn skills of collaboration, iteration and modern applied creativity, to solve problems with partners from the worlds of culture, technology and entertainment.

72U welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, cultures, skillsets and life-stages. The more diverse backgrounds 72U participants have, the more exciting and innovative the programme will be, giving them the tools to make a positive impact in Amsterdam and beyond, regardless of the career path they will choose.

Past 72U alumni include law graduate Max Einstein, who discovered a passion for data visualisation that saw him leave the legal profession to continue working with data. Fledgling UX designer Natalie Sun went on to help define the Creative Technologist role at 72andSunny LA, and is now a champion of up and coming talent in the LA art and tech community.

“72U is a unique residency aimed squarely at the personal growth and creative self-expression of the participants,” says Stephanie Feeney. “We can’t wait to open doors in Amsterdam, and see who comes to play. What we create together will be shaped by the participants themselves, our own agency culture, and the progressive creative currents of the city we call home. Vooruit met de geit!”

72U is looking for 6 candidates for the Amsterdam session, which will run for three months, from 26 September until 16 December. Travel and accommodation costs, as well as a minimum wage, will be covered by 72andSunny. The application deadline is 6 June.
