Weber Shandwick claims top honours from The Holmes Report

Published by

Leading global PR firm and Interpublic Group agency Weber Shandwick have been named as the “Global Agency of the Year” for 2014 by The Holmes Report; a report conducted by the Holmes Group on the public relations business. The agency beat out other finalists Golin, Edelman, Ketchum and Ogilvy PR. Honourees of the Holmes Report are selected by the publication's editors based on information gathered through agency report cards, which include independent profiles of more than 400 PR firms. Weber Shandwick will be presented with their award at the Global SABRE Awards dinner on October 29 in Miami, part of the third Global Public Relations Summit.

Weber Shandwick were highlighted by the report due to their “Consistent geographic excellence,” and “Commitment to creative excellence,” as well as their outstanding global market performance, their strong portfolio of business across the globe and the "impressive" senior leadership team, which includes president Gail Heimann, Asia-Pacific head Tim Sutton and EMEA chief Colin Byrne. The firm's innovative digital capabilities (led by the MediaCo content unit) and award-winning content publishing and distribution were also highlighted, and as well as being named agency of the year globally, they also took home the honours in both the North America and Asia Pacific regions.

Andy Polansky, Weber Shandwick's CEO, said he feels the award is “A testament to Weber Shandwick's collaborative culture and innovative work” across their global network, which spans across 81 countries. He also applauded the firm's teams and client partners around the world for their strong support. It would appear that Weber Shandwick has enjoyed a very successful year indeed, with their acquisition of award-winning Swedish PR agency Prime earlier this year and further recognition as the only PR firm to be named on the 2014 Advertising Age Agency A-List. The firm also won Gold, Silver and Bronze PR Lions at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity and three 2014 CLIO Healthcare Awards for breakthrough healthcare campaigns executed in partnership with its clients. The firm was also named PRWeek's International Consultancy of the Year and The Holmes Report's Best Healthcare Consultancy in the World in 2013, in addition to earning numerous “Best place to work” accolades.
