Award-winning production company Sibling Rivalry has bolstered its directorial roster by signing on renowned commercial, documentary and short narrative filmmaker, Sandra Winther. With a style that melds documentary and narrative techniques and an emphasis on capturing the stories and pulse of vibrant youth, culture and subcultures, the Copenhagen-born, New York-based editor-turned-director has helmed an array of projects that reflect her approach for the likes of Nike, adidas, Versace, Hugo Boss, New Balance, and i-D. Now as part of Sibling Rivalry’s roster, the director hopes to not only challenge herself, clients and brands to create work that has rawness and authenticity, but continue to represent individuals and cultures through commercials, documentary, and narratives and expand her own capabilities in the process. While she’s just wrapped a dance-driven commercial project and is currently hard at work on a documentary short, Winther – who draws filmmaking inspiration from lauded directors such as Andrea Arnold (American Honey) and Céline Sciamma (Girlhood) – also has her sights set on eventually writing and directing a feature film of her own.

Shaun James Grant has joined Tinderflint’s growing roster of directors for representation in 2018. Grant brings his extensive music video experience, having worked with artists including Black Honey, Jack Garratt, and Zara Larsson, Blossoms and many more. Shaun has a history of working with highly reputable clients such as Vevo, Sony, Universal, NFL, and Apple. Tinderflint joined the Free the Bid scheme in 2017 and worked on content for Amazon, WWF and Kellogg’s.

 

Coffee & TV

Coffee & TV has announced more key hires to further strengthen the studio’s 3D team. Jonny Grew will take up a Senior CG Artist position and work alongside recently appointed talent, Josh George. The creative duo’s complementary modelling, illustration and animation skills have produced countless iconic projects over the last 13 years. Katie Dymmock will also be joining Coffee & TV as Assistant Colourist. Katie will support Head of Colour, Simona Cristea and the burgeoning grading department. Coffee & TV secured the appointment of highly respected and sought-after colourist, Simona in late 2017. Jonny Grew is a rigging and animation specialist with over 15 years experience. He has worked on a wide variety of projects, from the BBC’s headline Rio 2016 Olympics animated campaign to leading the crowd effects for Nike's short brand film, 'The Last Game'. Jonny was also the team lead and animation director responsible for the creation of the baby Teletubbies, the Tiddlytubbies.

 

FCB Inferno

FCB Inferno is pleased to announce that Jo Jenkins has joined the agency as a Creative Director. Jo was previously at Karmarama, where her roster included Honda Cars, Air New Zealand, First Direct and Thorntons. Prior to this, she was at Proximity London, where she led and won My John Lewis and produced a multitude of award-winning work for Volkswagen. Jo‘s many accolades include D&AD, Campaign Big Awards and DMA Awards, is a member of the 2018 integrated jury for D&AD, and she also featured as one of Campaign’s 30 female creative trailblazers on course to be the industry leaders of tomorrow.Jo joins fellow Creative Directors Becky McOwen- Banks and Martin McAllister, and the trio report to Chief Creative Officer Owen Lee. Jo replaces Natasha Blevins, who has left to pursue other opportunities in the UK.

International editorial company Whitehouse Post has welcomed award-winning commercial editor Matthew Hilber to their roster. Known for both his comedic timing and ability to work across multiple genres, Matthew spent the past 16 years at Joint in Portland where he teamed with directors including David Gordon Green, Ulf Johansson, Jake Szymanski, and Stacy Wall on memorable campaigns for top-tier brands such as Facebook, Old Spice, Coca-Cola, Chrysler, and P&G. Matthew’s work has been honoured at many prestigious shows including Cannes and The One Show, and his frequent collaborations with Nike have yielded a plethora of iconic ads starring sports legends LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Tiger Woods.

Global brand experience agency Huge has announced the appointment of Wayne Deakin as Executive Creative Director to head up its London and European offering. At Huge, Deakin will work alongside Managing Director Mark Manning across the full client base and will be responsible for delivering the creative vision for the agency in the region. Deakin is a highly awarded and innovative creative who previously served as ECD for AKQA London before joining Huge. Prior to AKQA, he was the joint ECD for the Engine Group.

The Corner Shop has announced that director Ivan Grbovic will be joining its roster of directors for representation in the USA. A Masters graduate in cinematography from the American Film Institute in LA, Ivan soon switched to directing music videos and acclaimed short films in Canada. His first commercial work for Rona for the 2010 Olympics won him international recognition, shooting campaigns for Bank of America, Ubisoft, Lexus and Burger King. He will be represented by Ziegler/Jakubowicz on the East coast, Resource LA on the West coast and Mary Kate Hatfield in the mid-west.

 

TRACK Worldwide

TRACK Worldwide has announced the alignment of data, CRM, CX and digital capabilities under TRACK in Australia and New Zealand, formalising a 120-strong trans-Tasman agency led by Rob Limb as newly appointed TRACK ANZ CEO. Together, TRACK ANZ boasts clients including Westpac, McDonald’s, BT Financial, AAMI, Apia, Volkswagen, AA Insurance, Airpoints for Air NZ, Vocus and Officeworks – with recent wins including Exxon Mobil Smiles programme and Dulux – and forms a key part of a rapidly growing global network of over 500 staff across Europe, North and Latin America, Asia and ANZ. Rob moves from Managing Director (MD) into the new ANZ CEO role after successfully leading huge growth for TRACK Auckland and having consolidated a great culture and business growth for TRACK Sydney and Melbourne. Andy Bell has been promoted to MD of TRACK NZ to continue the incredible work he has done over the past six years with Rob. In Melbourne, Matthew Oxley and Tess Doughty continue as joint TRACK MDs leading a team delivering human-inspired customer solutions for clients such as Officeworks and Westpac.

 

Y&R New Zealand

Y&R New Zealand has announced the appointment of Kim Pick as Executive Creative Director. Kim joins Y&R from Colenso BBDO, after a series of new business wins for the agency including Countdown, Goodman Fielder and GO Healthy Australasia; and replaces ECD Tim Huse, who is departing for Los Angeles. Kim will be working alongside managing director Fleur Head in Wellington, and ECD Tom Paine in Auckland, with a focus on brand building, integrated and behaviour change campaigns for Wellington and public sector clients. With over 20 years of global advertising experience on some of the world's biggest brands, Kim has worked at leading agencies in Australia, Singapore, London, New York and New Zealand. She was ECD of RAPP New York until 2014, when she returned to the New Zealand industry, joining creative partner and husband Wayne Pick at Colenso BBDO. She has won over 100 creative and effectiveness awards for her ideas and craft in brand, digital, social, experiential and direct.

Prophecy Unlimited, the CRM agency specialist in joined-up customer journeys, has completed its executive board line-up with the appointment of James Caig as Head of Strategy. Caig’s hiring follows Prophecy Unlimited’s launch last year to create a Bristol-based agency of more than 200 people focused on insight, creativity, data and technology to help clients predict and pre-empt changes in customer behaviour. As Head of Strategy, Caig will lead Prophecy Unlimited’s strategic teams across Planning, Insight, Analytics and Digital Performance. Mindshare UK has appointed Daniel Da Costa to the role of Strategy Director and Yulia Livine to the role of eCommerce Director. Daniel will be responsible for driving synergy between Mindshare’s strategy and creative teams to help boost the agency’s aim to deliver new innovations for clients. He will also be responsible for ensuring that the creative ideas lie at the heart of every campaign across the agency. Daniel will be reporting to Matt Andrews, Chief Strategy Officer. In this newly created role Yulia Livine, will be responsible for driving Mindshare’s e-Commerce offering by developing tailor-made e-commerce strategies for individual brands. Yulia will also be focused on ensuring all elements are working homogenously as part of the overall media mix. Her role will be critical in helping Mindshare’s clients grow their online business while balancing ROI with long-term brand building and equity. She will be reporting to Mindshare’s Chief Business Officer, David Walsh.

Yes&Pepper, the London-based ideas agency, has appointed experienced Graphic Designer Taisa Echer to be responsible for helping to push creative design across all its clients, particularly working on the Hive and Sky accounts. Her appointment bolsters the agency’s growing creative team as Yes&Pepper continues to win new business in the utilities and entertainment sectors. Graduating with a degree in design, Taisa has over two years’ experience as a graphic designer working on projects for Honda, TTM Healthcare Group, Batuca and as a freelancer in her home country Brazil.

The BBC has announced that Kerris Bright, currently Chief Marketing Officer at Virgin Media, will take up the new role of Chief Customer Officer. The role will take responsibility for developing a closer, more personal relationship with BBC consumers, licence fee payers and those signing in to BBC services. The BBC’s existing Marketing and Audiences team and Licence Fee Unit will report into this new role and form a new customer relationship management function. Prior to working at Virgin Media, Kerris held senior marketing positions at British Airways, ICI Paints and Unilever. The role will report to Anne Bulford and Kerris will sit on the BBC Executive Committee. Kerris will take up her role in the Summer.

MediaCom is looking to ensure greater consistency across its network with the appointment of Kate Rowlinson as Managing Director of its Worldwide Hubs. Rowlinson, previously joint managing director of EMEA, is being promoted to the new role as part of a new strategic focus by the Group M agency on its network of global hubs. She reports to MediaCom's EMEA chief executive Nick Lawson, who takes on an expanded role to become chief executive, EMEA and global client practice. Rowlinson has been tasked with developing consistent specialist service capabilities across each hub, as well as unifying its approach to client servicing. She will work alongside regional leadership teams in EMEA, North America, Latam and APAC, and will be responsible for leading the development of any further worldwide hubs.

Norman Bates (aka Inti Calfat and Dirk Verheye) are an international directing duo based in Brussels who met at a scriptwriting course and decided to make films together. The duo, who have just been signed to the roster at Caviar, combine a documentary background with a more classical art history education to create very organic and genuine aesthetic. The duo have shot global commercial campaigns for clients including Coca-Cola, European Parliament, HTC, Mazda, Mercedes, Renault, Samsonite and Uniqlo. They have also won various awards for their commercial and music video projects including Eurobest, Spikes Asia and The New York International Film Festival.

 

Ogilvy Sydney

Ogilvy Sydney has announced significant changes to its creative structure, fully integrating its social creatives into the creative department, and adding a raft of new creatives to its ranks. Derek Green ECD, Ogilvy Sydney said the hiring spree and merging of creative, social and content creatives under his stewardship, marked one of the most exciting times in the evolution of his creative department. To support this focus, Ogilvy has added a raft of new talent to its creative department. Ben Smith and Luke Hawkins, (both previously Clemenger BBDO Sydney) have joined as Creative Directors working closely with creative group head/head of digital, Shaun Branagan, to service KFC - an account focused on delivering the best work beyond just television and print. Smith and Hawkins first teamed up at Clemenger BBDO in 2014 as creative directors on the Mars business where they were instrumental in pushing the creativity and effectiveness of the work through award-winning campaigns - “The Pepper Hacker” for Dolmio, MasterFoods “Make Dinnertime Matter” and Whiskas “Catstacam.” Also boosting the team are Copywriters Farah Ahmad, Fred Corazza, Georgie Waters and Ava Frawley, and Art Directors Jasmine Subrata, Raphael Valenti and Felix Ettelson. The social and content specialist creatives joining the main creative department are, Nathan Moraza, Wilson Kwong, Tom Macphail, Maddi Hoskin, Lucy Hay and Joshua Tan.

Cadreon, the adtech specialist unit of IPG Mediabrands, has appointed Erica Schmidt as its Global CEO, a promotion that comes weeks ahead of her on-stage appearance at The Drum's Programmatic Punch in New York City on March 28. Schmidt will report to Arun Kumar, IPG's global chief data and marketing technology officer, and is tasked with scaling the network's programmatic offering. Formerly, she occupied the role of Cadreon, executive vice president and managing director, North America, and prior to that was EMEA vice president of Dentsu Aegis Network's trading desk Amnet.

Silver, a leading B2B full-service agency, has appointed Alison Masters as its new Chief Executive Officer starting immediately. Silver founder and current CEO, Graham Dodridge, will assume the role of Chairman. Alison joins Silver from 1Spatial, a software solutions provider and leader in managing geospatial data, where she was Chief Marketing and Partner Officer since 2012. During her tenure, Alison oversaw a complete global rebrand of the company, implementation of a go-to-market strategy and 1Spatial’s growth into new sectors and markets – forging key partnerships globally. Previously, Alison lead the Central Marketing Group at Microsoft UK working across the full spectrum of marketing disciplines including advertising, direct marketing, digital, events, data and social. Kansas City-based agency Barkley has promoted Melany Esfeld to the role of Director of Integrated Production, Video and Experiential. In addition to overseeing production for all video, photography and experiential projects, Esfeld will be will be responsible for evolving Barkley's production approach and capabilities. Esfeld joined Barkley in 2016 and quickly rose through the ranks from Senior to Executive Producer before being promoted to her current position. Esfeld’s first order of business was to pledge to Free The Bid, a movement to increase seats at the table for female directors, editors and DPs. It’s part of her larger aim to invite diverse voices into the creative process.
