TBWA\Chiat\Day – Sport Chek

Sport Chek, one of Canada's largest retailer of athletic clothing and equipment, has selected TBWA\Chiat\Day as its lead creative and strategic partner following a review. The assignment was previously handled by the Toronto office of Sid Lee, which parted with the client in May, just before the agency's acquisition by a unit of Japanese holding company Hakuhodo. Sport Chek has become known for its innovative marketing tactics and aggressive growth strategy. The retailer recently opened two new stores in the Greater Toronto area and launched a digital concept store in the city's Maple Leaf Square, complete with a broadcast studio for 24-hour sports network TSN. This marks TBWA's second notable new-business score in less than a month, following its selection by as that brand's first lead creative agency for worldwide expansion.

Media Storm – Sunny D

Media Storm announced this week that they have been named the media agency of record for the SunnyD (formerly known as Sunny Delight) brand in the US and Canada. Media Storm, the second largest independent agency in the US, will handle all strategic media planning and buying. Additionally, Juba Plus, WCG's advanced analytics team, has been tapped by SunnyD to deliver data fuelled analytics and media mix modelling. The review was run by the External View Consulting Group in LA. Media Storm and Juba Plus will work on national and local campaigns focusing on analytics and media mix modelling; media buying and planning; and digital marketing.

MEC – GoDaddy

GoDaddy, the world's largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, has named MEC as its global media agency-of-record, awarding its global media, digital and analytics and insight business to the agency. GoDaddy, which is now serving more than 13 million customers in 42 markets and 37 countries around the world, has worked with MEC in India and in the UK since March 2014, and this new agreement expands their relationship to include all global markets. The business will be led out of MEC New York, with support from its San Francisco office. The appointment builds on GoDaddy's strategy to move to a more personalised marketing experience for small business owners around the world looking to leverage technology to help them easily start, confidently grow and successfully run their own ventures.

Forsman & Bodenfors – Volvo

Volvo has announced that it is adding Gothenburg-based Forsman & Bodenfors to its roster of global creative agencies, with Forsman & Bodenfors to be the Volvo brand's designated global strategic creative agency. The aim is to continue to portray Volvo Cars’ main point of differentiation (human centricity, powered by the distinctly Swedish pedigree) sometimes in unconventional ways. The agency was appointed due to its deep understanding of the Volvo brand, and their proven creative leadership, both of which will play a decisive role in the continued transformation of the brand.
