McCann Worldgroup has announced Alex Lubar as CEO of McCann London. Currently McCann Worldgroup's New York-based Global Chief Marketing Officer, Lubar will transition to his new role beginning January 2016. He succeeds Zaid Al-Zaidy, who is leaving the agency. Lubar will work closely with joint ECDs and Presidents Rob Doubal and Lolly Thomson. Lubar, a UK native, joined McCann in 2012 as CMO of McCann North America, where he oversaw all new business activity in the region and led the efforts that resulted in the addition of clients such as the United States Postal Service, Lockheed Martin, Zurich Insurance, SABIC, and Jose Cuervo. In 2014 he was promoted to CMO of McCann Worldgroup, focusing on driving organic cross-discipline opportunities across the network's key global and regional clients and leading efforts that also saw the addition of Microsoft and RB (Reckitt Benckiser) to McCann Worldgroup's global client roster.

Adam Arnold, the Managing Partner of BBH’s branding and venturing division, ZAG, has been promoted to Deputy Chairman of BBH London. In his new role Arnold will support Chairman Jon Peppiatt in leading the agency's Partners, engaging with BBH Clients on innovation projects and working with the Agency’s UK Management. Arnold joined BBH as a graduate trainee back in 2000 and quickly rose through the ranks of Account Management, working on a range of Clients including ITV and Audi, before running the Vodafone account. He will continue to lead ZAG alongside his new role.

MC&C has named PHD’s business director and deputy head of performance Mark Jackson as managing director. He is slated to join in February of next year as one of three hires the agency has recently made to further its growth. JAA’s Genevieve Tompkins also joined as board business director this week and Charlotte Eagland, consultant manager at Omnicom’s Brand Science, is joining as head of analytics. MC&C’s clients include Royal Mail, The Family Building Society, and Warner Leisure Hotels.

Benjamin Marchal and Faustin Claverie have been rewarded many times at the main French and international advertising festivals (more than 30 Cannes Lions between the two of them). They will lead the 110 creatives of the agency.

She brings a wealth of corporate communications experience, having previously worked at McCann Worldgroup, Ogilvy & Mather and Leo Burnett. Based in Singapore, she will lead the development and implementation of communications strategy for TBWA’s offerings across Asia-Pacific. She will report to Philip Brett, President of Asia, and will also be a member of the Global PR and Communications team for the TBWA Group Network.

MEC has strengthened its senior team with the promotion of Paul Hutchison to chief operating officer of the UK agency, Stuart Bowden and Jason Dormieux, MEC’s joint CEOs announced this week. Responsible for MEC’s communications planning, activation and investment teams, Paul will look at the structure, relationship and process that connects all the services the agency provides. Hutchison will look at relationships with media owners and third parties to ensure MEC is as open and accessible as it needs to be in an industry where success is based on collaboration. This will include involving third parties earlier on in the creation of owned, earned and paid (OEP) activation, to drive greater opportunities for innovative and effective client solutions.

Saatchi & Saatchi London has promoted Larissa Vince, the director of marketing, to the newly created role of chief growth officer. In her new role, Cine will focus on longer-term growth strategies for the business, including acquisitions, partnerships and development of new products and services for existing and prospective clients, working alongside Katrien De Bauw, the agency’s chief operating officer. She will also continue to run new business, marketing and PR for the agency, representing the brand with potential clients and in the marketplace. Vince joined Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon UK group in 2011, initially as communications director at both agencies. She was named director of marketing at Saatchi & Saatchi London in 2013, with responsibility for new business, marketing and PR.

Independent agency Bernstein-Rein has hired leading marketing veteran Chris Perkins in the new role of Managing Director. In this position, Perkins will be charged with managing Bernstein-Rein’s agency brand and building business. He will be a key member of the management team and report directly to Steve Bernstein, President of Bernstein-Rein. Perkins is joining the 150-person shop after a successful year at StrawberryFrog in New York where he was instrumental in significantly growing new business, including winning SunTrust Bank in August, and adding some top talent. He was also recently on the client-side, working as the first-ever CMO for Brand USA. He has deep agency experience working on both start-up agency brands including Blitz Media as well as established agencies such as Ogilvy, RAPP and Arnold among others.

At Swift, Chase will oversee Strategic Planning, Creative Sciences, and Community Management, uniting the strengths of each department to uncover the most relevant consumer truths and build insightful briefs. Before joining Swift, Chase was founder and principal of the strategic marketing firm Guidance Counsel. While there, she partnered with Under Armour to help re-position its women’s business and developed the strategy that drove the company’s most successful campaign ever: “I Will What I Want.” The campaign won 11 Cannes Lions, including the Grand Prix for Cyber; Effie Gold, four One Show Golds and 2014 Marketer of the Year.

Technekes, a demand creation agency, has expanded the ranks of its leadership team and hired Winn Maddrey to lead the company's communications efforts as vice president of marketing. In this role, Maddrey will be responsible for developing the company's overall communications' initiatives, working in conjunction with the practice groups, the account team and the marketing team to create outbound marketing initiatives, implement client campaigns and deliver results for clients. Maddrey comes to Technekes with more than two decades of communications experience, from time in the government sector, agencies and client-side. Most recently, Maddrey was at FleishmanHillard, where he worked in the reputation management, healthcare, retail and public affairs practice areas.
