Droga5 has announced another promotion within its senior management team, with head of business development Chris Wollen to advance as the agency’s first chief marketing officer, effective immediately. The promotion follows steady agency growth and several new business wins, including NRG, Scion and Viber, among others in this year alone. In his new role, Wollen will continue to oversee business development while leading new business efforts with partners WME | IMG. Additional responsibilities include serving as the contact for global new business opportunities and regional agency partnerships.

Publicis global CEO Arthur Sadoun has announced the appointment of Guillaume Herbette as CEO of MSLGROUP and EVP of Publicis Worldwide. The appointment is effective August 24, 2015. Herbette, who currently serves as global vice chairman of operations at FleishmanHillard, will succeed Olivier Fleurot, who moves into an SVP role within Publicis Groupe. As well as leading MSLGROUP, Herbette is also tasked with partnering with Sadoun to create more seamless ways of working with all Publicis Groupe brands (such as Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH, Starcom Mediavest Group and ZenithOptimedia) to enhance the client offering across the communications spectrum. In his role as CEO of MSLGROUP, Herbette will be responsible for overseeing all MSLGROUP entities, including the global events offering through Publicis Live, PBJS and Publicis Events, as well as strategic communication consultancies such as Kekst & Company, CNC and JKL.

DigitasLBi has announced Patrick McHugh as SVP, group creative director for the Boston and Detroit regions to oversee all creative work. He joins DigitasLBi with 20 years of experience as a writer, illustrator and creative director with expertise across multiple industries including automotive, beverage, CPG, fashion, travel & tourism and video gaming. McHugh has worked coast-to-coast building brands and combining technology with creative at agencies including Leo Burnett, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Y&R, McCann and Razorfish.

McHugh will be based in Detroit, and will report directly to EVP, executive creative director, Robert Rizzo, while partnering closely with North American CCO Ronald Ng, who said of his new hire: “Patrick is an engaging, diverse and thoughtful thinker who taps into the human consciousness. Moxie

Moxie, the full-service digital agency owned by ZenithOptimedia, announced this week that Sean Reardon will be taking over as CEO following the departure of current CEO Suzy Deering. A seasoned industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience, Reardon is presently the CEO of Roar, a Publicis Groupe Solution created two years ago to spearhead digital marketing efforts on behalf of JPMorgan Chase. He will continue to serve as CEO of Roar, as well as now Moxie. Deering, who has been at the helm of Moxie since 2012, will be leaving the agency to step into the role of CMO at eBay.

GSD&M

Carter Nance, who served as managing director of CP+B Miami for more than 15 years before leaving the agency last year, is taking on the newly created role of chief client officer at the Austin-based agency GSD&M. He will oversee management of the agency’s clients, including Chipotle, Hilton, and Walgreens. Nance’s appointment is the latest in a series of executive shake ups at GSD&M. Earlier this year, Jay Russell was appointed to chief creative officer after serving as executive creative director at the agency.

Full-service advertising agency Doner has announced the appointment of Marcus Collins as SVP, executive director of social engagement. Most recently, Collins served as Executive Director of Social Engagement at Translation, LLC in New York City. At Doner, Collins will lead and further develop the social practice across Doner’s growing client roster and across its offices in Detroit, Cleveland, London and Los Angeles. In addition, he will establish the agency’s social philosophy by combining culturally curious thinking with academic insights into the cognitive drivers that excite consumer behaviour.

The Publicis Groupe has announced the appointment of Chris Foster, currently worldwide chief operating officer of Saatchi & Saatchi, to the newly created role of SVP of global clients. Foster will report to chief strategist Rishad Tobaccowala, and will begin in his Paris-based role on September 1, 2015. Currently responsible for the performance and operations for 7 of the top 10 countries in the Saatchi & Saatchi network, and for significant global client relationships and management. He has been a senior leader at Saatchi & Saatchi since 1999 in North America, Asia Pacific and Greater China, as CEO of Fallon USA 2008-11, and as a member of the Global Leadership Team since 2011.

Hill+Knowlton Strategies London has further strengthened its content and publishing capabilities by hiring Mark Carroll as a content + publishing strategist. He will be responsible for content development and distribution strategies for the agency’s food, beverage, leisure and entertainment clients. Mark has over 12 years’ experience working in digital marketing and communications delivering integrated, multichannel digital content strategies for some of the world’s largest brands including Lynx, Magnum, Lacoste, Wall’s, Nissan and Guinness. He is also the creator of the popular DoorDitch Instagram art project which aims to capture & preserve Shoreditch’s unique street door artworks which are under threat from the regeneration of the area, and is one of the winners of Twitter's inaugural Powered by Tweets competition, which will see his tweet-powered idea to track the evolution of new words as they develop on Twitter made into an installation at Somerset House this September, as part of London Design Week.

Cheil Worldwide’s The Barbarian Group has bolstered its leadership team with a number of new hires and promotions following some big recent account wins, including Etihad Airways and Kind Snacks. ECD Ed Pou has been promoted to chief creative officer while Ian Daly joins from Apple’s agency TBWA\ Media Arts Lab to serve in the newly created role of chief strategy officer. Pou will now oversee all creative output, whilst Daly will be charged with mapping out a strategic course for the agency. Darren Himebrook, who previously served as director of digital production at The Martin Agency, will now take on the role of head of operations at The Barbarian Group. He will oversee the agency’s content studio, Lot112, in his new position. Tech director Robert Christ, meanwhile has been promoted to chief technology officer.

Camp + King has hired Kelsey Towbis as brand manager. She will work on the shop’s Google, YouTube and RE/MAX accounts. An East Bay native, Towbis graduated from the University of Oregon’s journalism program in June 2011. While attending, she contributed to in-house, student-run agency Allen Hall Advertising and served as Creative Strategist on the Oregon Baseball account.

Camp + King has hired Kelsey Towbis as brand manager

Towbis arrives at C + K from Pereira & O'Dell, where she worked on the Skype account for three years. Previously, she interned at Venables Bell & Partners, and participated in brand and retail work for the national Audi account. C + K CEO Jamie King, said: “Kelsey is a wonderful talent with great brand building chops and creative taste. We're excited to add her to the Camp + King mix.”
