The Churchill to partner with Saatchi Art and Republic of Fritz Hansen for 'Spring Fever'

Published by

On the 27th of March, Hyatt Regency Churchill Hotel will launch an exhibition of vibrant new art entitled 'Spring Fever', which will present work from the best emerging 'Saatchi Art' artists. The exhibition (in which every piece will be available for purchase) will be unveiled in tandem with the hotel's newly designed, bespoke 'Saatchi Suite' in collaboration with Republic of Fritz Hansen. The Churchill has made a name for itself as an establishment which champions up-and-coming artists, and encourages visitors to experience new art outside of the confines of a conventional gallery of museum.

Saatchi Art was launched by the Saatchi Gallery as a means to help connect emerging talent to art buyers from around the globe by giving them an online portal through which to present their pieces. The 'Spring Fever' exhibition compromises a selection of some of Saatchi Art's finest works, and will display the pieces throughout the hotel in its restaurant, reception and lobby areas.

Artists featured in the exhibition will include notable rising talents such as Gabriella Boyd, Tahnee Lonsdale and Timothy Hon Hung Lee. These are international artists who between them have exhibited at the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition, been shortlisted for the 2012 Dazed and Confused Emerging Artist award and been sponsored by established names 'Hix Restaurants' and 'Bonhams'. Each is a unique talent that underlines the ethos of Saatchi Art, bringing raw, undiscovered talent to the forefront of the public consciousness.

The Saatchi Suite will provide an exciting contemporary art experience unlike any other in London

Alongside the exhibitions unveiling will come the opening of a brand new interpretation of the Saatchi Suite, which will provide an exciting contemporary art experience unlike any other in London. Iconic furniture from the Republic of Fritz Hansen will be displayed in the suite, the prize amongst which is a 4-piece collection by Danish designer Poul Kjaerholm, whose designs are featured in permanent collections in such esteemed museums as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert in London. The piece was inspired by the 1935 Piet Mondrain painting 'Composition C (No. III) with Red, Yellow and Blue', and is itself entitled 'PK 4 x 20'.

As well as the striking Kjaerholm furniture, the suite will house works by emerging artists Hormazd Narielwalla and Tully Satre, both artists who have achieved global plaudits for their works, and have had pieces exhibited in some of the top galleries in the world. It all adds up to an experience which will prove absolutely unmissable for art affectionados and fans of unique hotel experiences alike.

The exhibition is open to the public from 09.00 on 27 March 2014, free of charge. A one-night stay in the Saatchi Suite at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill starts from £960 (including VAT) on a B&B basis.
