Qorvis MSLGROUP sweep up at Hermes Awards

Published by

Qorvis MSLGROUP, the Washington, D.C.-based unit of MSLGROUP, has been honoured at the 2015 Hermes Creative Awards with two nods for their outstanding advertising work. The awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies, with entries accepted from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, graphic design shops, production companies, web and digital creators and freelancers. The top honours, which were chosen out of more than 6,000 entries from 22 countries, included a Platinum Award in the “TV Ad” category for their work with AAMCO, and an Honourable Mention in the “Advertising Campaign” category for their Alzheimer's Association creative.

Qorvis developed the TV commercial spot, “We Hear You,” on behalf of AAMCO, an iconic American brand. AAMCO is the world's largest chain of transmission specialists and leader in total car care. They enlisted Qorvis as its Agency of Record in 2009 and since then, Qorvis has produced 12 TV commercials for the brand. Qorvis has developed highly successful print and digital campaigns for AAMCO, as well as a mobile app.

The “Tombstone” creative concept for the Alzheimer's Association, meanwhile, was created as part of an integrated public affairs campaign to underscore the urgent need for additional research for America's most expensive disease. The campaign included research, public relations, legislative support and digital strategy as well as the advertising elements. Qorvis MSLGROUP, a Publicis Groupe strategic communications and engagement group, is far from a stranger to charity work. In fact, in April this year, the National Safety Council awarded Qorvis MSLGROUP a $3.25 million contract to launch a national campaign to educate drivers about new safety technologies through advertising, media relations and public affairs support.

Qorvis MSLGROUP prides itself on executing integrated communications campaigns for our clients, and these awards highlight the talent of our creative team and the strong work we deliver every day.”

Now in its third decade, the Hermes Creative Awards has earned a reputation for accuracy, fairness and credibility. A look at the list of winners is a who’s who of the creative industry. It takes about eight weeks of judging, eight hours a day, to review all of the work that is submitted in each competition. Judges are senior-level, experienced professionals, who are either freelancers or own their own businesses, and are selected based on experience and availability. Entries are judged at random and not directly compared to other entries in their category, and work is judged on creativity. Utilising a consensus judging system, the judges verbalise their criticisms, compliments etc. and then agree on a score. Entries receiving scores between 90-100 points are Platinum Winners. Entries with 80-89 points are Gold Winners. Entries scoring from 70-79 receive Honourable Mention recognition.

The top honours were chosen out of more than 6,000 entries from 22 countries

Other winners at the Hermes Awards were far too numerous to mention in full here, but a full list can be found HERE for those that are interested.
