Publicis Healthcare take to the stage at the inaugural Cannes Lions Health Festival

Published by

At the very first Cannes Lions Health Festival this summer, it's been announced that the Publicis Healthcare Communications Group will be taking to the stage. The Cannes Lions Festival has enjoyed a rich heritage spanning 60 years. The festival celebrates the very best creative work in the advertising and marketing industries, and 2014 marks the inaugural Health Festival, a separate festival, which will run in the days preceding the Cannes Lions, on the 13th and 14th of June. Like the Cannes Lions themselves, the Health Festival will be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, and will be gathering the industry around discussing the unique creative challenges in the health and wellness sector.

Publicis Healthcare will be supplying the Health and Wellness Jury President for the festival, in the form of Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness global chief creative officer, Kathy Delaney. The jury (one of two at the event) will be charged with judging creative submissions related to consumer products, education, or service campaigns. Delaney says that  when she first attended the Cannes Lions Festival that “Health and wellness marketing wasn't even on the radar,” but that as she became more involved in the sector, she hoped it would get its “Well-deserved moment in the spotlight.” This year it would appear her wish has finally come true.

Jurors will also be supplied by Publicis, with Alexandra von Plato, the president and global chief creative officer of Publicis Healthcare and Digitas Health's US executive creative director, Jacqueline Nolan selected to serve on the Pharma jury. The Pharma Jury is the second jury at the festival, and will judge creative entries to Pharma Communications, Healthcare Professionals, and Non-Healthcare Professionals.

Publicis Healthcare will be presenting "Building an Inspired Organisation Now," with keynote speaker Jim Stengel

Throughout the festival's two days there will be a number of presentations featuring some of the most awarded creatives and marketers in healthcare. Publicis Healthcare will be presenting "Building an Inspired Organisation Now," with keynote speaker Jim Stengel, founder of the Jim Stengel Company, former chief marketing officer at Proctor & Gamble, and author of Grow, a book revealing how 50 of the highest-performing companies in the world became the powerhouses they are today.

As well as Stengel and von Plato, Publicis Healthcare CEO, Nick Colucci will also take to the stage, and together the three of them will be discussing how the new generation of creative leaders can transform healthcare marketing and encourage people to take better control of their health. Colucci said that Publicis “Salute Cannes Lions Festivals for giving the health and wellness industry a stage to share the work they do for their clients and people across the world." He believes that the new festival is the perfect platform from which to showcase Publicis Healthcare's “Commitment to raising the creative bar,” as they “Continue to create life-changing dialogue around health and wellness."
