Already adored by celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Miranda Kerr and Beyonce and well-known for their colourful prints, Peter Pilotto and his partner Christopher de Vos beat off talent from the likes of Emilia Wickstead, House of Holland, Mary Katrantzou, Osman and Zoe Jordan to scoop the award.

Christopher and Peter met whilst studying at Antwerp's prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2000, they have a shared heritage of Austrian, Italian, Belgian and Peruvian genes.

The womenswear line embraces new and classic takes on elegance. Otherworldly prints, sculptural shapes and vibrant colours are common threads throughout the collection. The pair are continually influenced and inspired by natural phenomena and a scientific view of nature as seen through the microscope which can be seen in all of their prints.

Pilotto takes care of the print and the fabric and De Vos takes on the structural responsibilities making for a perfect partnership.

They don't have a specific age or style in mind when they think of their typical customer. They like women who are attracted to the clothes and will then wear them as a part of her own personal style.

They now have a £200,000 business grant in the bag and 12 months of mentoring from the British Fashion Council to propel them onto higher ground.

Their concession range for American store Target is about to hit Net-A-Porter later this month. PETER PILOTTO is at current date sold in 50 countries worldwide and featured at over 220 directional retailers including Selfridges and Dover Street Market in London, Le Bon Marché in Paris, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, Joyce and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong and China.

Autumn Winter 2012 marked the tenth London catwalk show for the design duo, supported by Topshop. For their Spring Summer 2012 Collection they were awarded Fashion Forward sponsorship, supported by the British Fashion Council and Coutts.
