On Monday the 28th of April, New York Women in Communications will present the 44th annual Matrix Awards, honouring seven extraordinary women who have made significant contributions to the communication industry. The ceremony, hosted by the Interpublic Group, will take place at the glorious Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York with the theme of “Women who change the world.” Hosting the event will be the dynamic duo of news anchor Hoda Kotb, and talk show legend Kathie Lee Gifford, whom have been developing a witty rapport as co-hosts on NBC's 'Today's Talk' since 2008.

Liz Kaplow, president of New York Women in Communications, believes that the Matrix Awards represent the “Two pillars” of the NYWICI: “The advancement of women at every stage of their careers, and the ever-changing face of communications." She believes that the seven women nominated this year (whose names are listed below, alongside who will present them with their awards) “Bring those pillars to life with their achievements,” and is “Grateful to them for leading by example.” Kaplow is “Honoured and delighted to add their names to the Matrix honour roll of inspirational women," an honour roll that includes such lofty names as Barbara Walters, Tina Fey, Bette Midler, Katie Couric, Meryl Streep, Sheryl Sandberg, Anna Wintour, Candace Bushnell, Lesley Stahl and Maya Angelou, amongst countless others.

All ticket buyers should be aware that a percentage of the proceeds from the awards will go to the foundation arm of the NYWICI

The Matrix luncheon is expected to draw over 1000 people from the entertainment and communications communities and if you wish to be amongst them, tickets are available now via the official NYWICI website. All ticket buyers should be aware that a percentage of the proceeds from the awards will go to the foundation arm of the NYWICI, which is dedicated to providing financial support, scholarships, mentoring and opportunities to potential future female leaders in the communications field. Michael I. Roth, Chairman and CEO of the Interpublic Group, says that IPG “Works hard to be a leader in recruiting, retaining and promoting women” throughout all levels of the company. He underlines that IPG “Understand the value of female leadership,” and says they are “Proud to stand alongside New York Women in Communications, whose mission is to nurture the advancement of female communications professionals, at any stage of their career."
