Ben Jarrold
Director of Video and Photography, Global Creative Services at Thomson Reuters

ben

Having started his career on the 'client side’, in various Marketing roles at the Financial Times and then Thomson Financial, Ben Jarrold crossed the divide joining the design community at Thomson Reuters in 2008. Over the past 7 years he has been at the heart of companies’ own in-house creative agency - working on the the new post-merger brand launch, heading the global account team and then moving to specialise in video & photography production, where he continues today. As part of a departmental outsource, Ben tasted life at an external agency for a brief period of 18 months, as a Sr. Account Manager at Tag Worldwide. He returned to the Thomson Reuters fold in 2010, as a Director, to manage a team within one of the world’s largest in-house agencies. Ben particularly enjoys creative ideas that challenge a brand to be bold and forward thinking, offering designers a chance to really shape the direction of a business and believes the best ideas originate from teams that act without fear and those that are open to the ideas of those around them.

He is also responsible for the UK's longest lived current advertising campaign since its inception in 2002. Specsavers is a unique business. It is an independent company, it's not quoted and it's very entrepreneurial and innovative. There aren’t many clients that would support a creative agency and allow it to have creative freedom the way Specsavers does.
