How companies convey reliability through their online presence

Published by

One of the key things that customers or clients search for in companies is that they can be relied on. Whether this is to provide them with food products, a new mortgage or simply to ensure that they deliver on their promises it is important that customers know that they can trust the company. There are a number of ways that are effective at communicating to clients a sense of reliability but nowadays the ability to do so through an online presence is particularly important.

Customer Testimonials and Regular Feedback

This is an essential element of building customer trust but there is no one size fits all solution to providing previous customer testimonials. The trick is to find a solution that suits your company – so that could mean concentrating on feedback received on sites like Yelp or simply responding to comments received on Facebook or Twitter. If you’re intending on displaying testimonials on your website and manually uploading them yourselves, ensure that they are kept up to date. Feedback proclaiming your excellence in 2007 is only really relevant in 2007!

A Strong Social Media Presence

There’s nothing worse for establishing trust between client and company than to have barren social media accounts. In an ideal world, your social media presence would become an extension of your customer service and would allow clients to see your company at work. This may involve tweeting interesting business articles you find, sharing content that you’ve produced yourselves or answering queries through a Facebook page. Online casinos such as Betway have successfully utilised a blogging element to their site, providing customers with ‘insider information’ on races and tips for betting strategies. Customers then feel engaged with the company as they comment on blog posts and feel inspired to use the services by placing a bet or two!

A High Search Engine Ranking

If you’re looking to see whether a company is legitimate and worthy of your money, you don’t really want to waste time and energy trawling through search engine results to find the website. Until your website comes to the top of search engine results through successful SEO on your website, it may be worth considering sponsored presence. This would give your clients the peace of mind that you do care about your online presence (and by extension – that you care about them!) Take some time to Google random objects and see which companies come up first: ‘furniture’ shows companies like DFS, Argos and John Lewis, showing nearby stores and suggested products to purchase. If this is going to be the first time a client sees your company, you want to ensure that you make a good first impression!
