Dalziel and Pow

Former Household Design creative strategy director Paul West, has been named as strategy director at Dalziel and Pow, a role in which he will champion and nurture insights and creative strategy. The announcement forms part of an ongoing development and growth strategy at Dalziel and Pow, which recognises the shift in how brands are engaging with their customers. West's responsibilities will involve working with the management team and across all clients, building on D&P’s heritage and breadth of expertise to identify and create new opportunities and ideas. West has a diverse range of experiences. He has a background in architecture and interiors, and has spent time at Foster + Partners, Richard Rogers and 20.20. He's also worked in service design at Engine and business entrepreneurship at NESTA. He was also creative director at the global brand experience agency Imagination.

West said “It’s a very exciting time to join Dalziel and Pow, a time of growth to support the clients ever-broadening remits.” He looks forward to “Helping define the next chapter for the business, working with a diverse portfolio of global clients that are all looking to create more engaging consumer focused brands and experiences.” David Dalziel, founder and creative director of D&P, added that he feels West joining the team ensures they are “Well positioned for the next evolution of Dalziel and Pow.”

 

Perfect Fools

Ann Ystén has scored the role of CEO at creative digital agency Perfect Fools, taking over from Patrick Gardner, who leaves the agency he co-founded in 2002 to embark on a life-long dream of long-distance sailing. Ystén formerly served as deputy CEO at DDB Stockholm, and most recently held the head of marketing and communications role at the non-profit, anti-bullying charity Friends. The appointment is effective as of the start of next week (March 9).

Prior to DDB, Ms Ystén was marketing director at The Absolut Company for more than three years, and she also spent time at Lowe Brindfors in Stockholm. Ami Hasan, chairman of Perfect Fools, said that the departing Gardner has “Captained Perfect Fools successfully through calm and stormy seas for 13 years to create a world-class, highly-respected brand,” and feels that Ystén is joining the team at a time when it's “In fantastic shape and has the perfect mix of client and agency experience,” to take the business to the next level.”

 

Razorfish London

Razorfish announced the appointment of Neal Fairfield as head of planning this week. He'll be leading strategic thinking across clients such as Lloyds Banking Group, McDonald’s UK and Unilever, and will be responsible for the creation of strategies and insights that form the foundations of brand communications and experiences. Fairfield joins Razorfish from BMB, where he was head of planning for two years leading successful pitch teams to win accounts including New Balance, LEGOLAND, LinkedIn and Qualcomm. Prior to this Fairfield has 13 years worth of experience in planning roles at Saatchi & Saatchi, DLKW and Ogilvy. He will lead the London office's planning team, whilst also reinforcing inter-company collaboration, and will report directly to recently appointed executive director of strategy & insight, Jim Mason.

Razorfish announced the appointment of Neal Fairfield as head of planning this week

Mason is “Delighted to welcome Neal into this role,” and calls his new hire “An innovative, thoughtful and thorough strategist with strong strategic and creative instincts.” Given his “Proven success across multiple business sectors, his passion for brands, and his innate understanding of the consumer,” Mason feels the Razorfish planning team is now even better well positioned to “Deliver innovative and engaging experiences.” Fairfield himself added that he is excited to join the team at Razorfish. He says “It’s an agency of experts using technology to transform businesses and brands,” and he's “Proud to be part of it.” He looks forward to “Leading the planning team to deliver innovative and actionable strategies for pioneering clients.”

 

Leo Burnett Asia Pacific

Leo Burnett Asia Pacific CEO and chairman Jarek Ziebinski, has announced Oscar Oomens as regional business development director. The role will see Oomens moving to Singapore from Leo Burnett Moscow, where he served as managing partner until recently. 
The announcement arrives amidst a time of significant growth for Leo Burnett in the region. The agency recently ranked third for 2014 on the new business ranking report compiled by the R3 global marketing consultancy, with Leo Burnett also named as having the highest rate of growth on the list after doubling of its new business wins over 12 months.

Oscar Oomens has been named as regional business development director at Leo Burnett Asia Pacific

Ziebinski said that "With expansion of the Leo Burnett network in the APAC region and the extensive growth opportunities here,” he could not be more delighted to have Oomens on the team.” He added that they “Gained a lot of experience working together last year” when Oomens was supporting them from Singapore on the Samsung global AOR pitch.” In his new role, Oomens will be split between global and regional accounts, something Ziebinski feels he will be more than equipped to handle thanks to his “18 years of international experience in building integrated communication teams and global brands.” He calls Oomens “One of the rare marketing professionals who could truly claim to have lived and worked across all continents,” and adds that, even more impressively, he has “Continuously created success along the way in markets including Russia and Latin America.”

 

VCCP

We announced last week that VCCP had appointed Will Harvey to the newly created role of innovation lead, but new information has been revealed in the interim. It's been confirmed that Harvey's new role will focus on inspiring innovation in VCCP, and researching new tech and digital trends. Harvey joins VCCP from Ogilvy Labs, where he spent four years working as a creative lab technologist. During his time there, he worked on a number of campaigns for a range of clients such as British Airways, IBM and Beyond Dark.

Will Harvey has been appointed to the newly created role of Innovation Lead at VCCP

He will be reporting to managing director Andrew Peake, who said, “The decision to create an Innovation Lead reflects VCCP's commitment to ensuring digital runs through everything” they do. He feels the appointment of Harvey will help them to make sure they're “At the forefront of all the exciting developments in the world of tech and digital.” Harvey adds that he is “Excited to be joining a fantastic agency that is producing some outstanding creative work,” and he looks forward to “Bringing some innovative ideas to the creative and tech teams.”
