Highlights from London Fashion Week SS16

Award-winning production house White Lodge has had a hand in two beautiful films released to coincide with London Fashion Week.

Highlights from London Fashion Week SS16

Crowns & Owls, a collective of three filmmakers from Leeds who specialize in making music videos, commercials and fashion films, has collaborated with esteemed womenswear designer Zoe Jordan to create a launch film for her River Island Design Forum capsule collection.

Screened at London Fashion Week as part of the Fashion Film event hosted by the British Fashion Council, the film follows two female archers who step onto a film set with large bows in their hands and drum cases of arrows on their backs. They are captured hunting, launching arrows at one another. The film captures a dramatic glimmer of textures, and expertly highlights the collection, which is of course being sported by the huntresses.

In footwear, meanwhile, and in anticipation of the forthcoming collaboration that will be released later on in the week, RAINS and Sperry have released an accompanying short film produced by London-based film maker Jacob Harmer, who specialises in bridging the worlds of narrative storytelling and fashion. Combining the adventurous lifestyle aesthetic of deck shoe brand Sperry with the laid back cool of the Danish label RAINS, Harmer directs an atmospheric launch film to mark the release of the capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2015.

In the video, a group of friends escape to the calm of a beachside retreat together while an unexpected storm gathers on the horizon and a new adventure opens up. The video does an effective job of showcasing the weatherproof gear from the Danish brand’s latest collection, and the dramatic visual also provides a look at the water resistant shoes that utilizes two of Sperry’s classic sailor designed shoes as a base.

And what of the shoe? Well: "Constructed from lightweight waterproof material and complete with a touch of orange along the sole, the sleek black low-tops captures the true spirit of craftsmanship to get you prepared for even the wettest of adventures." Or so the press release says. We can't vouch for it ourselves, but they do look pretty nifty!
