Lida was recently awarded a £5 million direct and digital fundraising account for Oxfam after a competitive pitch against Rapp, Atomic and the incumbent agency, WPB Chameleon. The London-based direct marketing agency will be tasked with not only building the charity's direct and digital fundraising communications, but will also be developing a new direct response TV campaign. The first piece of Oxfam work is set to roll out in Spring 2015, with the mandate for Lida to distance the charity from traditional forms of fundraising in order to deepen customer engagement.

Tim Hunter, fundraising director for Oxfam, was “Particularly impressed with the passion, determination and insight” of Lida's team. He said they understood the fundraising challenges ahead and “Got under the skin” of the brand. He believes they are “A great fit with Oxfam” and he looks forward to working with them to provide a “Genuine step-change” for the organisation in the way they engage with their supporters. Matthew Heath, chairman and CSO at Lida, said they “Cannot wait to get started on helping Oxfam with their vital fund raising efforts.” He feels the Oxfam team shared their ambitions to “Challenge the conventions of charity advertising and find new, far more exciting ways to engage the great British public.” Lida “Hope to encourage people to take action by creating a message that the charity can continue to promote in future years.”

McDonald's recently appointed TBWA\HAKUHODO as their creative partner in Japan

McDonald's recently appointed TBWA\HAKUHODO as their creative partner to lead digital creative and brand trust in Japan; the foundation of the fast food chain's corporate strategy leading into 2015. The agency will also be the brand's free standing insert media planning agency of record from next year. The agency already has ties to McDonald's in Japan, having led the digital creative on the “Hiru (Lunchtime) Mac” campaign and supported the brand's “Value Lunch” promotion, which launched last month. Susan Goncalves, chief marketing officer of McDonald's Japan, said they believe that “TBWA\HAKUHODO, with their strategic thinking and creative capabilities, can positively affect” how their customers engage with the brand.

DLKW Lowe has been awarded the £5 million Sudocrem creative account

DLKW Lowe has been awarded the £5 million Sudocrem creative account. The agency will work on the strategic and creative development for the brand best known for its moisturisers and nappy-rash creams to “Leverage its heritage and support growth,” in a campaign that will launch next year. They will be collaborating with sister agency ICC Lowe, the healthcare subsidiary of Lowe and Partners, on the work. Clare Young, group marketing manager of Forest Laboratories UK, Sudocream's parent company, said that the agency “Has a proven track record in delivering fresh ideas, and effective, engaging campaigns.” She eagerly anticipates the results of the partnership at what she calls an “Exciting time for the brand.”

Pizza Hut has appointed Ogilvy & Mather London as its creative agency in the UK, and did so without a pitch. They will be tasked with developing a series of integrated campaigns to articulate the fast food brand's “Unique proposition and relevancy to consumers today.” Sandeep Kataria, the general manager for Pizza Hut UK & Ireland, is “Excited about working with Ogilvy” to spearhead their “Renewed marketing effort in the UK,” and intend on tapping into the “Creative excellence and strategic rigour synonymous with the Ogilvy network. Cheryl Giovannoni, chief executive at Ogilvy & Mather London, added that they are “Thrilled to be working with such an iconic brand, loved by millions,” and “Look forward to working with the team to create a relevant and modern articulation of its unique brand proposition.”
