Bartle Bogle Hegarty poach Michael Densmore from McKinney for Chief Global Growth Officer role

Published by

A new role has just been cast at the Publicis Groupe owned advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, in the form of Michael Densmore, who joins the agency as chief global growth officer from an executive spot at McKinney. Densmore will start at BBH next week, and will be based in the agency's New York office. Densmore will be charged with driving growth in a global capacity for the agency, working across all seven of the agency's offices (New York, London, Los Angeles, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Mumbai), but with a more specific focus on North American opportunities. He will also become part of the shop's global leadership team.

Prior to his time at McKinney (where he spent just eight months), Densmore worked as the head of business development and as a group account director for Kraft Foods at the Manhattan-based agency Droga5. Prior to that, he has worked within various facets of the advertising industry for numerous high-ranking agencies, including JWT, Modernista and Wieden + Kennedy, where he worked as an account manager. He has also spent time as chief marketing officer at the Integrate Beverage Group, and as chief talent officer at Arnold Worldwide.

Patrick Lafferty, the North American CEO of BBH, says that they are a “Pretty picky” agency, but Densmore “Has had a lot of great experience at a lot of great agencies,” and he feels that the “combination of those experiences brings expertise” to the agency. He also believes Densmore will lend BBH a “Valuable, rich perspective on what works and what doesn't work both within an agency, with clients, and with consultants, and a set of experiences that are best-in-class in this business." Densmore will report to Lafferty, as well as global CEO Gwyn Jones.

The man himself is quick to reciprocate the praise, calling BBH “One of the best creative agencies in the world.” He believes the agency, which has worked with countless global brands over it's 32 years as a company, including Audi, Playstation and British Airways, has “An excellent ambition of wanting to be the best," and he's, “Excited and honoured to be asked to help them achieve that.”  Densmore new position at BBH will expand on the head of business development role, which was formerly held by Julie Levin, who left the agency last summer for a similar role at The Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia.
