Amaze strengthens digital communications capabilities with two senior appointments

Published by

Amaze has bolstered its digital marketing capabilities with two senior appointments. Former head of Amaze PR, Sandra McDowell, takes on the role of managing director of Amaze Communications reporting to Amaze CEO, Natalie Gross.

McDowell’s focus will be to grow and develop Amaze’s digital marketing communications offering. She heads a 40 strong team with expertise in social media, PR, content development, CRM, digital media, search and analytics, which is backed up by Amaze’s strong digital and technology heritage spanning twenty years at the forefront of the digital industry.

Speaking about her new role McDowell comments: “All too often agencies sell channel specific solutions like PR or search in isolation, but we’ve organised our specialists into one cohesive team putting silo thinking to one side. Our approach starts with the customer’s path-to-purchase not the channel.”

Joining McDowell is Stephen Brunt, who has been appointed strategy director for Amaze Communications, bringing a wealth of experience from TBWA where he led communications strategies for global brands including EA Games, BP and Nissan.

Brunt comments: “It’s an exciting time to join Amaze. Together with the rest of this talented team, my skills in brand and communications strategy can really help our clients make a better connection.”

About Sandra McDowell
McDowell has worked on many award winning PR and corporate communications briefs for brands such as Coca-Cola and Unilever. She leads the team that launched the Saucy Fish Co brand - recently been voted a CoolBrand.  She started her career in luxury hotel sales and marketing and since then has held senior roles in leading PR consultancies developing PR strategies for high profile consumer brands like Manchester City Football Club, Eurocamp, Selfridges, Fox’s, Moto and Imperial Leather. Since joining Amaze, McDowell has been instrumental in developing the social media, content and internal communications offerings within Amaze.

About Stephen Brunt
Brunt has 13 years experience in marketing strategy across all disciplines and sectors. He joins Amaze from TBWA where he led communications strategy for national and international brands including EA Games, BP, Manchester United, The Co-ooperative Group and Nissan. Before that, Brunt was a strategic consultant for government and public sector, advising Cabinet Office, Home Office, Education, Work and Pensions on communications and behaviour change, prior to which he worked on policy communications for NSPCC.
