2015 CLIO Awards Roundup

The winners of the 2015 CLIO Awards were announced last Friday (18 September), with Saatchi & Saatchi coming away as the big winners of the night with 10 offices bringing home a whopping 22 awards. A coveted CLIO Hall of Fame award was also awarded to Saatchi London for their now iconic T-Mobile “Dance” work in the Out of Home category. F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi Brazil, meanwhile, took home an impressive haul of 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze, whilst the New York office won 2 Silvers. Other Saatchi shops to win awards were Del Campo Saatchi Madrid, Saatchi Design Worldwide (Auckland), Saatchi Italy, CONILL and Saatchi Dusseldorf.

Other shops to win big included David in Miami, which added two more golds for Burger King's “Proud Whopper,” while three US Agencies (Commonwealth//McCann, Wieden + Kennedy New York and R/GA) each won gold in the Integrated Campaign category. Also winning golds in Design were Ogilvy & Mather in London, and in Innovative, golds went to The Martin Agency for Geico's “Unskippable” and Google for Google Cardboard. In the Integrated Campaign category, Commonwealth//McCann won for Chevy work; W+K for Jordan Brand's “RE2PECT,” and R/GA for the Ad Council's “Love Has No Labels.” Besides Saatchi's “Dance” another Hall of Fame winner was announced in the form of Epuron's “Mr. Wind” spot by INTER+-POL in Film.

Colenso BBDO toped the table for Australasian agencies, claiming two multiple winners with Pedigree’s “K9FM” and “Dogs Don’t Judge” campaigns picking up a silver and a bronze respectively in the audio category, Volkswagen picking up a bronze CLIO’s for “Reduce Speed Dial” in the Innovation category and Finch and Colenso combining to win another bronze for “The People’s Film” in film technique. NZBCF / Skinfood was also awarded a silver in print for the “A Cream that give you wrinkles” execution.

Keith Reinhard will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award on September 30

The awards were judged over five days between the 14th to the 18th of September and will be presented on the 30th of September at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. At that ceremony, a Lifetime Achievement Award will be handed to industry legend Keith Reinhard, whose creative ideas have informed popular culture for decades. Reinhard penned the iconic “You deserve a break today” work for McDonald's and years later helped create Omnicom, one of ad land's first global holding companies.
